Hello all, I'm Phill, I'm 31 and I've recently got back into 40k after a long hiatus.
Thinking about my history with table top gaming it must have started in the mid 90's before I even hit my teens. I collected Blood Angels primarily, although from the models I've dug out there's also Eldar and a few Orks (do Boar Boyz still have rules?)
At some point I changed over to WHFB and between me and my brother had reasonable numbers of Empire and High Elves models (with a few Brettonian, Lizardmen and Dogs of War in there).
I think my brother must have bought the LOTR models, because there are a few of them lay around as well, I don't remember ever collecting them.
I'm not sure what drew me back in, but I suppose I always maintained a passing interest in 40k. Back in June I decided to buy some Imperial Guard from EBay, and quickly decided I wanted to expand to the other Imperial forces I never got as a kid. My goal has now become to create a large Imperial force, although for now I'll be leaving Space Marines alone.
Happy wargaming all!

Haha nice to know I'm not alone.
For what they're worth, my 90's 40k minis are pretty much scrap. I could probably piece together a handful of usable models from what must have cost hundreds back then.

Welcome to Dakka and back into the hobby. I like the sound of creating a large imperial force... any chance you're talking Apocalypse?

Hi. What part of Manchester?
If south Manchester...
There’s a pretty good 40k venue in Stockport called Element Games, or the north west gaming centre. They put on 1 and 2 day tournaments which are well run, and you can usually get a game there.
I live inAltrincham and there’s a gaming club on Tuesday nights here. Easy walk from the tram stop.
If you want you can PM me your number I can get you added to a 40k WhatsApp group as well. It’s not amazing but there are a few people who are fairly often looking for a game.
