Yaho,

Since 8 point bs3 snipers are a thing for IG, I intend to issue them all with sniper boltguns as a. it fits the theme of well equipped infantry and b. I have bolters coming out of uncomfortable places.

The general idea is like an Anti-Materiel Rifle for which I have secured perspex rods for the extended barrel. However I do not have any idea on what to use for 'interesting' looking muzzle brakes. Any suggestions?

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

The randomly shaped sprue pieces from kits? There are often interestingly angled and quite substantial shapes there alternatively bolter muzzles are pretty hefty already, so just remove and put on the end of the extended barrels.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

If you can still find those bases with the little round tabs on the side, those make for great "silencer" barrels. Just cut off the little triangle dingy attaching it to the base and then glue it to the bolter barrel.

It's a quick visual shorthand for "sniper bolter", even though an actual sniper rifle would look nothing like it.

Failing that, lollipop sticks or cocktail stirrers. accomplishes the same thing.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Just use a plastic rod, whatever diameter you need. The rods from Evergreen plastics are the ones most use. They sell them hollow (tubes) and solid (rods), so you can drill a hole, put in a solid plastic rod, and put a slightly larger tube snug over the end!

Most hobby stores sell them, not sure what you have near you, but the shops around here that sell model trains, planes, tanks etc all have Evergreen displays.
