I LOVE TnT, and its one of my all-time favorite light-RPG/skirmish miniature games.

If you're just coming to it you'll find a wealth of content, and a lot to enjoy, though as a super-long-time player, i'm wishing print content would release at a faster clip. I really, really wish we had a big new book of gear, base-building, post-game encounters, which were to be expanded on after the vehicle rules expansion (which also hasn't come out yet).

So i read the demo rules and it looks like a great system.
One thing I'm having trouble understanding though is the wounding sequence.

Ranged wounds take effect at the end of the activation while melee happen immediately?

When does this matter?

The only scenario that i can see this mattering is when you have 2 actions, a model is in your way and you want to shoot him and move past. You won't be able to.

Is there any other scenario I'm missing?

Its because all but the most astute shooter wouldn't be able to verify a kill at long range, so there's a risk/reward to deciding how much more fire you want to direct at a given target.

In melee you can pretty much tell if you've killed something. :-p

Ahhhh good point.
If i want something dead i can't depend on one successful shoot attack.
If i really want it dead i have to decide wether or not i want to put another shot into my target.
That's kind of neat.

Thanks!

Awhile ago we did a campaign. Really good game to play it with. Only got to do about 5 games of it before it fell apart but was a ton of fun.

A great system overall and its great the author took players ideas/changes to heart and updated it.

Im still waiting for the next book with more factions to come out

You didn't even give me a chance to answer your PMs. :-p I'll answer here for the sake of anyone else interested.

Unlike Frostgrave, in TnT you have proper-warband-wide level'ing up. Characters have skill categories they can draw from... its all very, very Necromunda... and its terrific.

Similarly, like Necromunda, there are between game search events (here done by drawing random playing cards, or randomizing as you see fit I suppose). These often involve skill checks and could help you find some extra income, get a rare piece of gear, or go horribly wrong.

The full-book is a terrific value, and has loads of gear, all the level up charts/skills, talks about currency, a healthy number of scenarios, enemies, etc... The demo kit is just a tiny fraction of TnT.

What minis do you guys use?
I've got so many i can't decide what theme i want to go with.
Wwx?
Wrath of kings?
40k?

I could see using any of those with the tnt system.

Oh i forgot... does tnt have a mechanic for multi player games?

Depends on the faction you are interested in.

The reclaimers = Brotherhood of steel from Fallout basically so a buddy used a lot of brother vinnis stuff

The mutant = reaper mutant guys like the brain, land shark, etc. Also Deadzone plague guys fit well

I did raiders so GW cultist kit was perfect

Indiana's = wild west exodus guys fit well.

They said some dark relaimers would come out in the next book so I painted up a 10 man box of Skitarii from 40k (but still no book...)

Multiplayer we always did player a and b vs c . Do like 1000 points for example and a and b split it at 500 each.

Campaign is best on 1v1. but you could do free for all 3+ players as everyones going for objectives and trying to survive.

Most of the time your guys are earning $ in the campaign between missions. Think face cards is what triggers events.

yeah im kicking myself for getting rid of all of my cultist now... ugh!
im thinking of using genestealer cult guys as raiders instead.

i really need to pick up the full book. =p

How does tnt handle hordes?
I saw one of the books details zombie hordes.

That's a special mission. Players are not horde armies themselves(though I guess you could take a bunch of guy with a knife and send them forward to get shot down) Though one player in that mission may control the zombies, don't remember. Think it was a free Halloween thing.

Believe the mission dictates how zombies work

I think zombies are also like an environmental hazard?

In one of Ash's Nickel City vids, there are zombies.

BTW strongly recommend the Guerrilla Miniatures Games TNT vids (as well as all of Ash's vids, TBH).

Pretty much the only game I play now-a-days. I've got a few buddies that play locally, including one guy who is not a wargamer but loves the setting and the "beer and pretzels" style of play.

Sounds like there are going to be some smaller kickstarters peppered over the coming months for individual warbands, etc. as well as a proper expansion on the way.

There was also a Halloween scenario also released on the TNT facebook page too that I'm looking forward to trying.

Thanks gh, that's good news.
Where did you hear that?
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but unfortunately world's end tnt site is sorely outdated.
Judging by the dates on there i'd have to wonder if they were even still around.

The TNT page on FB is probably the best place for news: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TNTGameGroup/

Yeah IIRC there is a plan to do a customizable car kit. I wish I had snagged more pics of that off of FB but I can easily imagine that being a KS on its own right.

Nearly all US posters in this thread.
I've still not seen this game for sale anywhere in Europe.

Guess I'll be sticking to Mutants and Death Ray Guns till I see it released over here.

My Painting Blog: http://gimgamgoo.com/
Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

I'd suggest picking up a copy and introducing your friends to it, rather than waiting for retailers to figure it out.

TnT is a great game, but you do need to pick up the book directly from the publisher.

can you guys recommend the extra content?
are they worth picking up?
- Eat, Prey, Live...
- Kickstart the wasteland
- Mutant cannibals
- Wasteland essentials

they're only a couple of bucks each but i don't want to waste money on a single scenario with some paper models...

Eat, Pray, Live has a few (3 or 4 from memory) scenarios, but I'd say hold out. Joe has floated the idea of bundling all the pdf stuff into the next expansion book (although no idea re: release date).

The Wargames Illustrated post apocalypse issue also had a scenario from Joe and is worth checking out. The issue is worth the cost of a digital download for all the other content anyway, regardless of the TNT scenario!

Not gotten to play it a lot recently, but the games I have played have been very good.

The gangs are flexible and overall have good balance. I have tried both hordes of cheap dudes, a few very good dudes and a thing in between, and all types seem to work.
There is room to grow, like adding vehicles, base building, more scenarios etc, but the base rulebook is worth the price IMO.

As for multiplayer games, there is no problem doing that, check out my battle report from a 4 player game: https://mandollies.com/2017/03/01/rad-storms-over-oslo-this-is-not-a-test-battle-report/

Yeah. Kinda gutting. I was hoping there'd be some make there way to the UK to buy.

From the publisher...
$50 Book
$24 Shipping
$10 import tax
$12 fee to postal services to collect the import fee
Total $96.

My wife would go mental for spending that on a single skirmish game rulebook.

If you don't want the PDF, email the author - on the facebook page he recently said he could do $10 shipping to the UK from Germany, where some copies exist.
