Because trying to build the most weird annoying list to play is fun. This is in a battalion, vanguard and supreme command detachment. If there's any advice to up the cheese I'm happy to hear it.

You have too many HQs, with the detachments listed you have 10 slots available and you have 11 HQs.

I dunno what the rough riders do, I would take a spearhead, a supreme command and a vanguard detachment.

Damn, I meant brigade when I wrote battalion! The one with 9 command points... The rough riders are there to satisfy the fast attack requirement - they pop up from a table edge with two plasma guns and burn something, engage weak enemy units in melee, and cap objectives.

Don't forget to build the vanguard detachment out of exclusively Astra Militarum units so that you can use their stratagems. And call the conscripts valhallans so you can send in the next wave.

You have more units here than any list I've ever seen fielded.

I get that you're trying to abuse the character rules so that n opponent can only kill conscripts, but I don't think it will work.

1) Without orders, your conscripts will crawl up the field, and all the characters will have to stay behind them. The moment the lead squad of 20 is killed, your characters will have to back up and hide behind the second squad.
2) Your list doesn't actually have much firepower. I'm picturing you trying to take out a baneblade or imperial knight or something. Not easy.
3) Astropaths aren't an efficient source of smite-spam, because they're more liable to be denied than others. 4-5 for their usual powers will do.
4) Characters may be hard to shoot at, but they're pretty easy to assault. If they punch through your conscripts they can take out a lot of your characters quickly.
5) Your lack of objective secured will be a problem.
6) Given that the current meta very much requires everyone to have plenty of anti-horde weaponry, 120 conscripts really isn't all that many.
