Ok, so if you had a brood of three carnifex would it be a single "drop" if you placed all three in reserve in three tyranocites? Also, if they came into the board within 6".

Why I think it's a single drop is it says they behave as separate units after deployment from that moment onwards. So does that mean until its on the board it's a single force org slot AKA drop?

As in 3 carnifexes in one role slot, no. You have to set them up in 6" to at least one other model of the unit. Embarked they are not in 6".

If Khorne needs blood, will drown him in his own blood!
If Slaanesh wants pleasure, then we´ll give him DEATH, the greatest pleasure known to man!
If Tzeentch asks for forbidden knowledge, then we will enlighten him with fear of The God Machine!
If Nurgle wants us to embrace rebirth, then to hell with that, the Guard embrace Death, we live to DIE!

You can't take 1 brood of 3 carnifex in 3 tyranacites. If you want to do that you need to take 3 broods of 1.

I don't understand where it states this. The book reads as follows:

"The first time this unit is set up on the battle field, all of its models must be placed within 6" of at least one other model in their unit."

This isn't broken if during deployment (while they are considered a single force org slot) if placed inside the drop pods. Unless I am missing something?

Because a Tyanocyte cannot fit 3 carnifex, therefore you cannot legally deploy them there.

Where are you finding permission to split what is a single unit until it is set upon the battlefield between multiple transports?

Its a permission based rule set. A tyrannocyte does not have permission to transport a partial unit.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Does the rule set list the tyranocites as holding a squad or a model count?(at work)

20 INFANTRY or a single MONSTER with a wound characteristic of 14 wounds or less.

So no permissions are broken placing each creature in a separate pod then once they land at the same time they land 6" from one another?

Can parts of units be in separate transports?

Yes, there are, because when they deploy in reserves they cannot by definition be within 6" away from each other. They are <Null Value>" from each other.

Nothing in the rules says a unit can be split across multiple transports, and until deployed the Fexes are one unit, so this isn't viable sadly.

Agreed, since it's still one unit until deployed on the board, you can't break up the unit like that since it's still treated as one unit at that point. Otherwise, Orks could break up a 30 Boyz-strong unit between 3 Trukks, or a full sized unit of Conscripts could be broken up and carried in a convoy of Chimeras.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm not trying to outdo troll anyone just I honestly thought this might be possible. Is their a way to contact GW to address this in a FAQ?

There is no need. Read the transports side bar. Find any permission to split a single unit into multiple transports. It doesn't exist? It's cause you can't.

If you want to, yes. I believe their email is on the gw site somewhere. I disagree that it's needed, but if enough people send it in, they may address it.

They won't change the rule here. Changing the core Transport rule would mean allowing weird parallel stuff like one squad of Conscripts riding in 3 Chimeras, and the Codex is about to come out for Tyranids so they won't patch the Index entry now anyway even if they wanted to.

I assumed he meant to further clarify it, not to change it, but yeah. It's not changing.
