I will explain the general tactic here:
We all know Death Guard is extremely slow, I tried a list with Poxwalkers, cultists, Typhus and the Noxious Blightbringer but if you face a smart opponent who is faster then you, you will have a hard time. That's why I'm trying this list.

Morty will rush up with the Chaos Daemon Prince who will give Morty Warptime. Mortarion is a beast in close combat and will serve a bit as a focusing point for my opponent so my Rhino's can move up the board.
He will buff himself with Miasma of pestilence to get the -1 to hit. The Daemon Prince will stay near Morty at all time.

The rhino's with the PM will rush forward. One Rhino will be loaded with my CC Plague Marines, Biologus Putrifier and the Foul Blightspawn (his flamer is awesome for anti-armour and horde, his buff will make sure if they get charged they will strike at the same time). They will do the Grenade Shenanigan and Veterans of the long war to do Mortal wounds on 5+ . The other Rhino will unload the 2 squads of plague marines with the plasmaguns to kill those hard targets. The Nurgle Daemon prince will accompany them for rerolls of 1's if I overcharge the plasmaguns (he can also deal with hordes with no AP weapons since he has the Relic 'The Suppurating plate'). The Maligant Plaguecaster will rush up and buff where needed. Buffs on the CC marines will be Putrescent vitality and Blades of Putrification. The Sorcerer with Jump Pack will help out casting Presience on the Plague marines where ever needed and Death Hex on targets with a Invul save. I equiped the rhinos with meltaguns to have some Anti-armour since all anti-armour will be targeting Mortarion.

I have put some Cultists in there for some backyard Objective grabbing. Since they are Alpha Legion they will be at -1 to hit if they are more than 12 inch away.

What do you guys think?

If you want to run death guard and alpha legion, i would consider bringing a unit of poxwalkers, to gain the benefit from "the dead walk again" stratagem.

Looks like a balanced list. You don't have alot that can deal with high toughness though.

Also, Morty is gonna be pretty alone charging forwards, so he'll have a big target on his back.

Thanks for the reply killerpenguin.

I know that Morty will be a big target but it doesn't matter what I run next to him since he will always be the main target.
I do however run the Daemon prince with him but nothing can keep up if I warptime Morty, not even Bloat Drones.
The Rhino's will move and advance and pop smoke turn one aswell so they will be in my opponents face by turn 2.

About the poxwalkers, I ran a footslogging list but wanted to go another route. The Cultist are for grabbing back objectives so I wont move them alot. I'm also keeping my command points for the Grenade stratagem, veterans of the long war and cloud of flies if my grenade PM unload from my rhino.

You make a solid point about high toughness models, I just can't find anyting to put in the list and discard which would let me handle that. The only thing that comes in mind are PlagueCrawlers or Predators but then I will have to cut Mortarion. I'm hoping that my 2 Daemon princes will see close combat so they can deal a bit of damage vs tanks, also the grenades if I can get close can deal a good amount of damage thanks to the mortal wound spam aswell as in close combat. I was also thinking of Mortarion with Bloat Drones kitted out with Pusspitters vs tanks. With the -1 Toughness I will be wounding T8 on 4's.

If you drop 2 units of cultists, the sorcerer w/jump pack and a rhino. You have room for 2 ML and LC helbrutes. Its gonna leave your DP and a unit of cultits in a pratol detachment. but the DP can fly up with mort and cast warptime on him.

i dunno. Just a suggestion.

Good suggestion. Thanks. Gonna try it out. The only problem I have with Hellbrutes is that they die quite easily. No invul save makes them weak. Wish that they had atleast DR :-)

Yes, they are quite weak. But they have IA, so that kindof helps. You can deploy them out of LOS, then walk out of cover and shoot without penalty.

Yeah. I've had bad luck with them as well. Most of the times it gives my opponent a easy first kill. Even if I hide them the first turn. I instead switched them to 2 plagueburst crawlers. Just removed the Combi-Melta from the rhino. I know they are BS4 but they are durable as hell. With the Daemon prince nearby it will allow me to reroll ones
