For example, if I have a unit of 3 models, 2 of 3 are 5" away from the target, while 1 of 3 is 6" away from target.

If I rolls 4" for my charge, that means 2 of the (5" away) will reach the enemy unit and can fight.

But what going to happen to the 1 of the (6" away), can that 1 model (6" away) be able move 4", can it do 3" pile in since its unit reach the enemy?

Or does it stuck back and cannot fight? if so, would it still be 6" away? or 2" away (due to 4" charge roll)

Only one model has to make it within 1" during the charge. The rest of the squad gets to move where ever they want as long as it's no further than what you have rolled for the charge range, they stay within squad coherency, and it's not moving within 1" of an enemy it did not charge.

Then during the pile in your models can move up to 3" towards the closest enemy model, up to base to base contact. If you did not charge an enemy unit but pile into it then you can not attack it but it can attack you.

I think I got all the names for the moves and phases right. But that's how it works.

I hope that clarifys some things for you.

So to answer the topic question, meaning no matter how far my model, I can always pile in as long as 1 of the model in the unit within 1" of enemy model by the end of the charge.

Ok, so i assume what you said compare with my example. That means if I roll charge roll of 4, since the rest of his unit reach the enemy unit and now within 1"

If so, the one far behind (6" away) can still charge 4" and will be 2" away from enemy unit. And does that mean despite being 2" away from enemy model, he can still pile in 3" and will be close to enemy model thus can fight?

Because your models are charging, it doesn't matter if they are within 1" of the enemy or not. If some other unit activates first and COMPLETELY OBLITERATES the unit they are within 1" of then you STILL GET TO ACTIVATE and pile in because you charged with them that turn.

Pile in activations are for models within 1" of an enemy AND units that charged. So you will always be allowed to pile in as long as you successfully charged.

It's called a thick skin. The Jersey born have it innately.
