So I'm a little confused about Chapter Relics. On page 200 of the codex, it says:

Note that some weapons replace one of the character's existing weapons. Where this is the case, you must, if you are playing a matched play game or are otherwise using points values, still pay the cost of the weapon that is being replaced.

This makes sense until I start considering the results of this. For example - The Teeth of Terra (which replaces the character's Chainsword) would cost 0 points since that is the cost of the Chainsword.

And what about Relics like The Crusader's Helm which doesn't replace anything? Does that mean it also costs 0 Points?

And then there's other relics like The Fist of Vengence: Does that cost 12 Points because that is the cost of a Power Fist?

The Teath of terra replaces a chainsword so may be only taken on a model that has a chainsword so costs 0 and could not be taken on a model that does not have access to one

The fist of vengeance replaces a power fist so may only be taken by a model with a power fist and costs 12 pts

The crusaders helm does not replace anything so has no points cost or restriction on which character may take it.

Note without using a strategem you are only able to take one relic (if your confused by the lack of points since 7th)

Yeah you just pay the base cost to get the weapon (as needed) and replace it with the relic for an additional cost of 0 points
