So i was surfing the web looking for wings for shrikes when i came acros a conversion using a tyranid gargoyle as the shrikes lower body and they used the garg wings, a tyranid warrior front torso and a trygon head piece as its carapace... looked interesting and made me think. so now im going to borrow the idea of using a gargoyle body as a shrikes lower body. i glued the garg body together and trimmed it... needing to do some Green stuff work but too tired to get pictures. but i will post some soon.

Interested to see them.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

heres what i got sofat. As you can see the lower body is a Gargoyle body i chopped off a bit to make them fit together and then greenstuffed a Carapace plate where i chopped. after they dry im gonna add some green stuff between the upper and lower bodies. it wont be seen much. but im the tye to paint behind the dwarfs beard as they say.

I got to say so far it is genius. You can use 2 of the limp pairs for weapon and the last one for wings.

Where do you find the wings though?

the wings i intend to use will be attachedto their carapace like as dragonfly.. my gargs have similar wings but just under the carapace on the sides

so the mold i made for the wings came out terrible...bubbles and junk but i got a set of wings to workout the green stuff i need to do.

so heres what i came up with. Gargoyle body as its lower body, warrior torso, warrior head, warrior arms, and the wings are casts of a wing i made . going to be casting the wings in clear and i will wash them with purple wash then black gloss wash before i glue them in.

Awsome!

Have you consider to use CD's to make wings?

I saw a guy on deviant art doing it for his models. See below.
