How do the Tallarn Ambush Stratagem and the Leman Russ Grinding Advance rule interact?

(This is in part worryingly similar to the "do Elysian Flyers auto-crash" so do forgive me)

- Tallarn Ambush allows you to spend CPs to deploy units wholly within 7" of a battlefield edge & 9" away from enemy units.
- As it's a mid-turn deployment it falls under Reinforcements rules.
- Reinforcements tells us units count as having moved when they deploy.

- Grinding Advance allows Russes who stay still/move under half their M allowance to fire turret weapons twice.

So if you ambush with Russes, how can we know whether they're allowed to fire once or twice with their turret weapons?

I was in the camp of "without knowing they moved under half, you can't grant the rule's benefit".
My opponent was of the view that "we don't know they've moved over half so should benefit." We played it this way as benefit of the doubt.

I don't think there currently is an answer and it needs an FAQ ruling, but wondered if we missed anything obvious?

This has been asked a few times on the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page, with them saying they would pass it to the rules team.

So yeah, nothing obvious missed and no way of knowing whether more or less than half, so FAQ required.

I've been considering it moving. But no measurable distance. So under half. Others may see it differently. But its easier to say "Yeah it moved" vs "Yes it moved between (7 and 10 inches)"

Now fixed by the FAQ: only one VEHICLE unit is allowed out of three, and all units arriving this way count as having moved their maximum distance.
