/title basically. I ask because as it stand now it’s not answered. Best answer Iv heard is no as they were the only chapter who did not come to the defence of the home world? Right?

Any new info or argument for or against this please chime on

I think the answer is most likely yes.

Their last known location was engaged against Tyranids on the Eastern Fringe, far closer to Ultramar than to Baal. The Ultramarines are far more likely to know of their status than the Blood Angels are. If the chapter has been destroyed it would have been an honourable death against a common foe which would likely put them near the top of the list of extinct chapters to be resurrected with Primaris. If the chapter is still alive then they will be desperately in need of reinforcement. The penitent crusade would be over by the time the Indomitus crusade built up steam, and if anything would count in their favour since if Guilliman didn't trust them that would give him a reason to force the chapter to accept reinforcement with Cawl-grown Primaris whose loyalty could be assured.

Also if outnumbered by thr bigger, more powerful primias, there's a stronger hand for guliman to keep them in line with marines loyal to him.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

The thing would be they would essentially be yellow Blood Angels trained by Mars and not the descendants of the ill-fated Lamenters of the 21st Cursed Founding. As Cawl went back to Legion gene-seed rather than using mutated and/or altered gene-seed of the later Chapters, and it's rumoured the Lamenters have altered BA gene-seed to cure the Black Rage and Red Thirst, they would just be Blood Angels.

Odds are the original Lamenters are dead and gone, and I say this as a guy who has a small Lamenters force.

It's very likely that they'll be completely remade with Primaris Marines now, but the odds of any survivors making it back to receive reinforcements are incredibly low. If they didn't come back to defend Baal they either got lost in the warp storm, secretly kicked the entire hive fleets butt during the warp storm and dressed everything up as Khorne monuments for Lulz, or they were already dead.

I'm keeping mine all old marines for this reason, my army will be a pre Baal Lamenters force, which means no Primaris allowed. If I ever pick up primaris for cheap or as a gift, I'll paint them as post-Baal Lamenters. From there they'll just never be mixed, you either get old Lamenters or New Lamenters, but not both. Who knows, the Blood Angels codex may come out and talk about how a battered Battle Barge limps into Baal's orbit a few years after the battle and the few surviving Lamenters end up rebuilding the entire chapter. Stranger things have happened, especially recently.

I can't help but feel that if GW mention them being rebuilt by Primaris, they will inevitably inherit the curse. Would be an amusing little nod to just how rough the poor guys have had it.

As Cawl's using Legion gene-seed, the Lamenter Primaris will be made from BA gene-seed, not Lamenter, so they shouldn't inherit the curse.

You'd say that, but these are the Lamenters we're talking about after all. It's always been kind of implied there's an almost supernatural nature to the amount of bad luck they have.

I don't see why just because they didn't turn up at Baal they must be dead, they could have been delayed or just not got the message.

knowing the Lamenters they did get reinforced but all of their primaris marines simply died due to a rare allergic reaction to paint fumes when their armour got re-branded.

right behind you

Maybe the bad luck of the lamenters becomes so overwhelmingly bad that the curse carries on because of a defect in the primaris gene-seed which occurs just as the last non primaris lamenter dies.

That was my thought too. I hope they got some reinforcements since everything sucks for them.

Glory to the sadbois.

They didn't get the message or were late to an apocalyptic battle which reduced the several chapters present down to a few dozen survivors in a single fortress? Doesn't quite chime with their luck unless they bumbled in to an even worse situation.

So did anyone notice in some of the leaked pictures for the blood angels codex there's a primaris Lamenter in it? I couldn't read the text so I can't tell if they survived to get reinforcements or if they were wiped out and completely remade with primaris stock.
