What is the most powerful / damaging weapon in 8th edition? is it a Guard Vulcan Mega Bolter? or a Tau Heavy Rail Cannon? or is there a hidden gem.
What weapon does the most damage in one round, now this can be a combination of number of shots, the AP modifier and the damage. Is it a one shot weapon with no modifier and massive damage or a multi shot low damage weapon?

I would say Warlord titan Belicosa Volcano cannon.
|
Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

This. Range 180'', macro d6, strength 30, AP -6, damage 12, with an extra d6 mortal wounds to the target if you roll a 6 to wound.
Most questions regarding biggest, strongest, most expensive, most durable etc. in this game can be answered with "Warlord Battle Titan".

Howabout some other limitations, like something you're more likely to see on a table...
I've been up against a Falchion and Fellblade, the Falchion has probably the single most powerful weapon I've seen in 8th.
Or limit to non FW models. Probably a Shadowsword?
How about non LoW? I dunno. The Dunecrawler laser seemed pretty strong, but it's been a while.

Non-FW, non-LOW then it's got to be the death strike. Average of ~10 mortal wounds plus bonus wounds for nearby units.

Are we including points costs or no? If yes, then probably the Shadowsword's main armament. If no... then yeah probably the belicosa volcano cannon.

No points. If you want to do subgroups that's fine, maybe melee weapons as well.
