So, I tried pushing my style here, and going with something pretty different, referencing the comic's art style. I think he came out pretty cool (notes)

That's wonderful. Altough I have no idea from which comic/movie this guy should be.

...wow. Unless I am totally off, that base is a water-reflection of neon lights including rain distortion?! If so, that is damned impressive.

Excellent work. Especially the base.

Fendius, yep, it's the reason I haven't gotten the rest of the minis Knight put out... I'd need to overhaul them so they're at least closer to the original than that confusingly terrible adaptation (I've never seen someone try so hard to stay true to an original while missing the point so completely).

MNOP, glad you saw that: the contrast wasn't quite where i wanted it, but yeah, I was trying to capture that drugstore scene in the 5th(?) issue.

Impressive.
My first thought when I saw the title was how incredibly boring and uneventful it must be to paint a trenchcoat and hat guy in that scale.
Well, I was wrong in so many ways!

The purple shading is spot on to any comic of the era. And while I didnt get the base as at first glance, its a really nice touch.

Oops, forgot to respond...

Thanks, I'm glad that the weird lighting read that well. I think part of the reason I had so much frustration towards the movie was because that, despite their weird fascination with recreating compositions, it really didn't feel like they had any, even indirect, nods to the aesthetic. Having recently watched the Speed Racer movie, I think it did an infinitely better (and weirder) job capturing some of the texture of what it was adapted from.
