The great nerfing of our time has happened and we in New Zealand still have our nationals to go. I was planning on flying a pretty standard NymGar list but practice games have shown that Nym doesn't work for me now. So I need to swap up my list pretty quick (our Nats are on 11/11 in Wellington). I have three different lists in mind and have practiced them but what do others think?

List 1. 100pts.
Dengar, Expertise, Title, k4, countermeasures.
Bossk, VI, k4, Zuckuss, Inspiring recruit, EU.

List 2. 98pts.
Dengar, Expertise, Title, k4, countermeasures.
Ketsu, VI, 4-Lom, countermeasures.

List 3. (100pts or 98 by dropping Lok to Pirate).
Talonbane Cobra, Title, PTL, Tracers, vectored thrusters, ID, EU, autothrusters.
Fenn Rau, PTL, Title, autothrusters.
Lok Revenant. EM, GC, Cruises.

The last list definitely the most fun to fly but is so RNG and range dependant it either rips everything apart or dies spectacularly (generally the latter), list 1 is very easy to counter and list 2 is relying upon both ships being able to tag team reliably. So I ask what do you prefer? If none then better ideas?
Cheers.

List #2, Ketsu is far from optimal. She ideally wants her EU to maximize her ability's use, a crew that ups her action economy and, if points allow, the title.

Maybe something like this?

Dengar (33)
Expertise (4)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Punishing One (12)

Ketsu Onyo (38)
Veteran Instincts (1)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 100

Just remember that in tournaments, big ships tend to be a liability because of the MoV you are handing your opponent everytime you drop below 50%.

Yeah I fully get your point about MOV mate which was the problem I was running into with other ships, the 25-35 pts range for Scum is either TLT or very squishy. Have been toying around with various three ship builds and outside of the H-6 I find they are very susceptible to being shot off the board in a turns shooting, which is why I was thinking of using two big ships.
I am expecting to face a lot of alpha strike lists (hence the countermeasures), kylos, wookies, RAC, Falcons and Dashs. Think K4 on Ketsu is a good call and have the points spare already and whilst I get your point on EU I have the fear of missiles! Gaming tonight and should manage four matches so will try out your version and see how it fits.

@Ineedvc2500; The only Bot I own is the crew version! Tried them out on vassal a few times and really couldn't get on with them, shame they wont be able to use linked battery.

Strangely, EU helps with missiles too as it can get.you in range1 where most.of them can't hurt you. Well, less.

Tell us how your four games went.

A fortnight ago I faced a Ketsu/Dengar list at a local tournament held almost as a warm up for the Aus Nationals, and I definitely think it is a strong list. Plus not really affected by the Jump-nerf at all.

The one I faced was pretty much the exact same as the list Mathieu Raymond posted.

That said, I do agree that even though it's a good list the fact that it can haemorrhage MoV can and probably will give you trouble.

Okay that was interesting, only got in four games (mainly due to a debate about IWSYTDS, it goes through shields right?) and all of them were against RAC/Vessery with variations of load out. First game I used my list 2 but adding K4 on SC, forgot all about countermeasures and got a narrow win (Dengar dead and Shadowcaster just above half), second game used same list and got my head handed to me (got Dengar caught at range one of both enemy, tractored, blinded pilot= dead Dengar). Next tried out dropping counter measures from both and adding EU on SC ended in a solid victory as I lost three shields in total, last game playing the same was a narrow win (same as first).

So I am still a bit unsure about things, K4 on both was a damn good plan but for the SC it meant that I was trying to force maneuvers to get the lock which on that ship are mostly three speed and were at times actually detrimental but that is an experience thing. EU on SC I am still torn on, I do get the point but found that too often due to the issue mentioned above that the range was closed already. However due to the fact that I only played variations of the same list it really just amounted to flying lessons so I am not really sure of what lessons can be learnt. I struggle to see how I will deal with Dash/Miranda, quad wookies and PS11 Alpha. The wookies especially just seems so hard to take down.

Yeah, IWSYTDS goes through shields.

I don't have much (or any, really) flying as scum, so I'm not really going to be much use otherwise. Most the scum lists used against me that work in a tournament setting are going to be illegal in your Nationals thanks to the FaQ...

Well, from my experience, you want to be circling just outside the asteroids, but still be able to catch someone trying to go through them. That entails a lot of movements, so the 3-speed manoeuvres are definitely your friends. Especially if you can then afford to Boost close into an enemy.

The way it's been going though, use it quickly, as they might very well nerf the K4 to only be usable when you don't bump.

Did you see if anyone tried to timidly bring back Soontir to see if he is again God-tier?

My brother (who is my most regular opponent) has a slight Soontir obsession, even getting a 181st TIE/in tattoo...

So Nats are tomorrow and I am pretty settled on my list however our tiny player population means there will be only a cut to the top 8 so on day 2 there is a side event. The format for that is randomly paired 50pts per player doubles, so its time to bring back the Z!
Thinking of;
Jast, title, GC, Crack shot (or deadeye), cruises.
N'dru, Lone Wolf, GC, SC, clusters.

Think it could be fun and who is not terrified of facing a Scyk and a Z at the same time (other than everyone).

Alright their bro? Well done on winning the side event on day 2 (he flew Whisper/expertise/ACD/Kylo).

So Nats ended yesterday and I am really happy to say I came 12th! Before round five I was 4-0 (why chinmaster says I got shafted).

First round I played against my first ever Ghost, Kanan/Zeb/Lowh.
I was not really sure of my approach for this so sent Ketsu out on a flank to get behind Lowh whilst Dengar danced around the Ghost. The game came down to a one health Dengar shooting at range three through debris against the phantom. I got one measly hit, he got zero evades! A narrow win indeed.

Second round I faced a Palp Shuttle, Darth and Tomax.
Burned the shuttle down in two turns, stuck in range one of Tomax so he couldn't get his ordnance off until he died and then tractored Darth on to a rock between both my ships at range one, lost half of Ketsu.

Round three was against Miranda and Rey.
I went all out to burn down Rey as fast as possible with Dengar sticking in her face and Ketsu kiting around at range three, oppo preferred not to have Dengar return shots and so did little damage and Rey went down hard. Miranda had only lost a couple of shields before I pincered her in the middle of the field at range one of both my ships, tractored onto a rock and she died.

Round four was against Miranda Rey again!
Played the same way and got pretty much the same result (even down to tractoring Miranda onto a rock).

So I was pretty damn happy so far at 4-0. Round five was my favourite game of the lot, oppo ran PS3 Upsilon, PS10 Quickdraw and PS9 Backdraft. Both SF with Ordnance and set up half way up the board, I made three key mistakes in this game first I decided to joust it straight up, second I split my fire and third I allowed fear of return shots to scare me off shooting QD. I misjudged my approach with Ketsu and she died whilst I inflicted some damage on Backdraft and the shuttle, we ended up bumped in a cluster in a corner where Dengar killed Backdraft and most of a shuttle. Final turn had QD and Dengar at range one of each other face to face and after two rounds of attack each both died. Was a hell of a game and I lost 100-84.

Round six was my worst of the lot, played against two Loks loaded for bear and a Torkill with TLT. I drew my opponent through the rocks but lost Dengar in exchange for one Lok and some damage on the second (he Harpooned Dengar and I had the great pleasure of ramming his ships and setting it off!). Game came to an end when I misjudged a bank with Ketsu and ended up on a rock with Torkill nuking my PS and the last Lok T-rolled behind me for the kill.

I didn't get to see any of the top 8 games other than bits of the final which was a Palp shuttle/QD/Vader vs Assaj/Thwek/contracted scout. The Scum player won (he is the same bloke who won ozzie nationals!).

I have no idea and don't know if they will be. Not sure if the TOs even know of its existence, I will ask them.

List were put up on FFGs forum;
Winner: Paul Johnson (ANZAC champion!)
Assaj - Latts Razzi and PTL
Thweek - both titles, FCS and Autothrusters
Contracted Scout - Trick Shot, Rigged Cargo and Intel Agent

Runner Up-
Darth Vader - VI, Title, ATC, Engine
Quickdraw - VI, Title, FCS, LWF, Pattern Analyzer
OGP - Palp, Collision Detector

Top 4: Dash - Lone Wolf, Rey, Counter Measures, Title, HLC
Lothal Rebel - Hera, Autoblaster, Gunner, FCS

Top 4: Dormitz - Hyper Wave Comm x2.
Quickdraw and Backdraft with Hyperwave, Cruise Missiles and other stuff. (VI on Backdraft and adaptability on QD, both with titles) and I think FCS on QD.

The rest of the top 8 haven't been published that I have found but there were 2x Rey/Miranda.
