Excellent - Hammerhal is a fantastic system, and I've been hoping for a few more beasties to be stated out since release.
I just really hope the long-rumoured death-themed game (perhaps even in Shadespire) still holds potentially true.

I skipped Hammerhal due to my budget, but had a lot of fun playing WHQ silver tower. I'm glad to see both games still getting some support though.

Never bought any cards from GW. Is there any chance that the 40k ones will be made like legit playing cards? If they were that hard wearing they could be used in so many different games. Not to mention looking even cooler when they're a bit dog-eared.

Nobody knows.
GW have done cards before, but never your standard 52+2 deck. At least, not to my knowledge.

£15 is a lot for playing cards (or so a cursory google search tells me) so maybe there's hope. Though, in all likelihood your probably right.

That's the WHQ cards. The playing cards are only £8.

Kind of annoying. It's something GW could easily do but... C'est la vie.

There was a better pic on facebook(can't find it atm this browser doesn't work on that hellsite) - preorder is this saturday, and the playing cards are indeed a full 52+2 deck - the four suits are Imperial, Mechanicus, Xenos, and Chaos, with the former two featuring characters from those factions and the latter two featuring humans posing with horrifying masks of aliens and daemons etc. Every card except for the two jokers is unique, no other duplicates.
I'm going to need, like, at least three packs - one to play with, one to lay out in sequence and frame, and some for gifts. They better not run out or limit the number you can buy because of damn scalpers.

On the other hand if you're getting playing cards made it's probably cheaper to get it done by a company that makes playing cards than having to get special stuff set up a regular printer who doesn't normally do them
so I'd think they will be pretty decent as even cheap playing cards are fairly standard quality

Though, in all likelihood your probably right. Correct, at that price you can get a good USPCC printed playing deck that's mostly used for magic trick and cardistry. A normal USPCC bicycle standard playing deck only cost about 2-5USD.I doubt GW playing card are on par with USPCC printed card. Edit: just noticed it's 8 squid lol.

I guess this means that WHQ isn't completely abandoned yet? Maybe they still have stuff in the pipeline for it.

It's a fairly easy game to keep supported.
Doesn't require specific models. Just chuck us some cards and perhaps a new campaign book now and again. Addition of new dungeon tiles once or twice a year would also keep me sated.

I think I remember War of Sigmar implying we would get some sort of expansion early 2018.
