An interesting blog post from Gav Thorpe about the origins of Ynnead: https://gavthorpe.co.uk/2017/10/29/the-rise-of-ynnead/

That was a great read. Of course, I say that because it conforms to my prejudices for setting over narrative in 40k... I look forward to reading Ghost Warrior and more of Gav's blog.

This.

While my vision of what each individual Craftworld is like differs from Gav (I prefer mine far more dystopian rather than relatively nice if restrictive places), I wholeheartedly agree with his approach to fluff-writing.

Although he does make a good point in that narrative is perfectly fine (and in many cases preferable) provided it spins off more juicy potential mysteries than it closes off.

That's certainly something I've come to embrace with the new narratives coming out around 40k. Might be jarring to have change, but provided that the implications for that change set your mind racing about new potential ideas it's absolutely fine

Oh, and I've come up with a semi-expanded Shadow War idea and need some feedback! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/726439.page

Lastly I contribute to a blog too! http://objectivesecured.blogspot.co.uk/ Check it out! It's not just me

I would definitely recommend Gav's blog in general. He posts some really interesting and insightful stuff, both about Warhammer 40k background/history and about fiction writing in general.

Farsight: Crisis of Faith answered so many questions surrounding the Tau and opened up so many more. My second favourite BL book, after Fire Caste (which is deceivingly named, it's really a guard book).

You love the T-Rex. Its both a hero and a Villain in the first two movies. It is the "king" of dinosaurs. Its the best. You love your T-rex.
Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.
