I was thinking of painting up some Sisters but I don't like the bald head and topknot look; is there anything in the fluff which states that they must have their hair in this fashion?

I'd like to model them with regular ponytails, maybe also use a few Statuesque Miniatures heads too in place of the originals. Even bald headed would look better!

Dude its your minis and your order of Sisters. Do what you want.

in combat they would all be wearing helmets anyway.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Some of the artwork from Horus Heresy: Collected Visions has variations on the topknot look.

The artwork for the Silent Judge doesn't appear to have a topknot at all.

Presumably the Sisters' hair isn't actually their real hair since... well you can't make a big bushy ponytail with an almost entirely bald head.

Different Orders and Spire Convents have differing practices, so I don't see why some wouldn't have more conventionally normal hair.

Sister of silence, abaddon. Leman russ 30k special termies. And others...

A wide range and all seem to like top knots.

And yes. The SOS hair. Is kinda like a foot or so tall. It's probbly not real.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

The emperor loves head ornamentation. You can take the boy out of the bronze age, but you cant...

Because GW never figured out how to model decent hair that could fit universally with their models' armour, so they said 'screw it' and gave everyone the same ugly top-knot.

Yeah, that does sound like the most likely reason.

I'll tell you why top knots are so popular. Humies are just jealous of our hair squigs, dat's why.
