I'm going to post updates here with some new lists I've been running and/or working on. It represents some new opportunities I've had now that my collection is neraing completion (painted and based beyond tournament minimums). I'm also messing with running Brigades alone without the accompanying Battalion to economize on HQs and BSS and try some other fun combinations (like Seraphim spam and full mech lists).

With this Brigade, I obviously went big on mechanized infantry. Three Dominions with different builds meant to optimize stratagems get their Immolators into flame range with the Vanguard move. Two Rhinos follow with maxed out BSS with stormbolter or meltas to provide a strong second wave. Another Rhino loads Celestians, Canonesses, and support characters for melee. Only the stock Canoness, the Exos, and the stock BSS screens deploy in the backfield and stay there; everything else rolls out in Turn 1 to bring close range shooting pressure.

I ran this list once and it was a blast! So many Seraphim are just fun... the DS strat seems overrated, but spamming IPs is a viable tactic... I'll continue to tinker with this list.

Another update: backing up 2018 lists:

Chapter Approved 2018 was a major shift... Adepta Sororitas armies may look much like they always have, but they'll play very differently from here on. I'll try to update these old army list threads to reflect the combinations of armies I like to play.

There's a few lists here now that reflect the outcomes of several ongoing experiments and some new ambitions. I'm pushing a more in-your-face play style and trying to maximize Stratagems, Order Convictions, and Acts of Faith (such as they are)

This one is all about getting stormbolters close with transports and then charging as needed with Bloody Rose infantry. The principle behind it all is "how many S4 dice can I throw" and the answer is (hopefully) lots between rapid firing stormbolters and Bloody Rose charges. It also uses the slightly sketchy tactic of using the Dominion Vanguard move to move half-empty transports out of the DZ, then pile into them with a bunch of melta BSS and aura HQs on Turn 1 and run them across the board for a delayed ranged attack from a midfield blob. Three Rhinos with stormbolter Dominions picking up two BSS with maxed melta and a blob of Canoness/Dialogus/Missionary... they should be able to pop smoke on Turn 1 and disembark Turn 2 in rapid fire / charge range. The Warlord stays on foot with another BSS, Celestine, Preacher, and Dialogus to maintain auras and splash extra movement with Vessels if needed. The other three BSS roam around in Immolators, Advance as needed to grab objectives, and roast infantry. The stock Canoness castles up with three Exorcists. The Battalion screens the backfield against deepstrikers.

This one I've played once or twice with fair success. The core element is the Valorous Heart Warlord Canoness w/ Brazier, Celestine, Jacobus, and Dialogus flanked by 4x BSS with 3x SB each. I'll try splashing Divine Guidance onto a wall of Stormbolters hitting on 2s and rerolling 1s. I'm also thinking the Dominion's mounted Vanguard move is less to throw them across the board and more to build a wedge at the limit of the aura bubble for T7 4++ and LoS blocking. Secondary elements include a VH Canoness and 2x Exorcists with 2x5 BSS to screen them, a full-size Seraphim deep strike, and a Rhino packing a Bloody Rose Canoness w/ IP and BoA, Preacher, Dialogus, and 7 Celestians w/ Power Axe.

Time for a full overhaul of my assorted pure Sisters lists to reflect the realities of the new FAQ... with the datasheets capped at three, you'll see fewer Dominions and more Seraphim across the board. I'm still looking to post a heavily mechanized list, a pure infantry force, and one that seeks to balance the two styles of play.

This is meant to be an all-comers pure Sisters list, and double Battalion has replaced the single Brigade I'd been running. It has evolved into two lists, both at 1997 points, one with Forge World options, one without. My regular monthly game is FW-free for better or worse, and that accounts for most of my playing time. The main difference is that the non-Forge World option rolls out three melta Dominion squads in their own Immolators with two stormbolter BSS units following behind in a single Rhino for objective grabbing, while the Forge World list has three squads of melta Dominions stacked in two Repressors and two squads of stormbolter Sisters following behind in a pair of Immolators. So both lists have four flamer-equipped transports moving combinations of Vanguard melta and BSS stormbolters, but the exact mix and the ability to shoot while embarked varies. I suspect the difference the Repressors make is the difference between middle mid-tier and lower top-tier, at least in my little local meta.

Infantry Brigade, 1992 points, 146 PL, 15 CP. Based on a recent conversation in the Sisters Tactica about the merits of foot-blob Sororitas. I'm pushing the limits of my collection with this list, and running minimal multi-wound non-HQ models, which may limit the value of some weapon loadouts on the other side of the board. The army's core is the six "Trinity" BSS units with one of each weapon type, which I just love the feel of. This list really wants more Retributers and Stormbolter Doms... but I just don't have the models.

Mechanized Brigade, 2000 points, 113 PL, 15 CP. This list runs all six Rhino hulls I have currently built: 2 Exos, 2 Repressors, 2 Immos. The basic goal is to outweigh the opponent's AT and really make him choose his priorities. I know Exos aren't great, but they're tough, scary, synergise with the Canoness castle, and may extend the life of the Repressors.

Tbh I'd wither run a pure gun line or a list that is going to get in their face. Not sure you will earn you points back with the imagifiers. Also not sure the point of the priest. Nothing he will be in range of will want to be in combat and he won't be able to reach what you do. Seems like you need to find out what you want your sisters to do, and then build a list that does that. Personally I play my sister's highly aggressive (all in tanks, alpha strike to the max) but like I said a pure gun line can and would work too. Trying to do too much will leave you thin and accomplish nothing.

Yeah, the priest is really an either-or with the third Imagifier. The first two pay off every game by using CPs to fuel extra Shooting w/ rerolls from Canoness-backed HB Rets. The extra round of shooting usually drops a couple of medium infantry per turn or finishes off a wounded vehicle. Not worried about them... the third Imagifier works a little harder to be effective, usually falling in behind a surviving melta Doms unit after the first push. There's usually 3 just to fill the brigade.

The priest... I guess I'm thinking that footsloggers can't evade or hide in their metal boxes and will probably take more charges than I'm used to. I'm imagining him standing in the middle of a couple dozen sisters with the Canoness and Imagifier to make the inevitable charge hurt a little more. I also have some great models and haven't used them this edition... but you're right, he's the weakest element of this list.

So, you're right... it's a mix of gunline and alpha strike, which maybe doesn't work. I also play mostly in-your-face mech sisters, so this list is a change for me.

Updated the original post with two new versions of the 2000 point pure Sisters list: one with Forge World, one without. I'm taking both to my usual monthly group this weekend... a lot of my opponents are starting to add knights, superheavies, and primarchs to their lists, so I'll have a couple of Repressors to offer up Sisters on "hard mode." I also want to run pure GW Index Sisters to see how they really hold up pre-Codex against my regular opponents. Comments and feedback always welcome.

Yeah, I think this is looking solid. I did a little measuring and math, and you don't even need to hold up the Vanguard Rhinos much. If you deploy auras on the line and the troops you intend to embark within 3" of the line, you make your Vanguard move 10" instead of 12" and dont Advance. Then your transports are still 3+/4++ and your troops can still embark with a regular move (no need to Advance or AoF) and the stormbolters can disembark and rapid fire 6" into the enemy deployment zone on Turn 1.

Updated two lists that I'm now able to play based on finished models... a little tweaking left to do, but one is nine vehicles and the other is triple Seraphim, just for fun!
