Seems like a cool game.
They said that the boardgame will be developed into a tabletop if I understood correctly.

There is a supplementary rule book out the same day as the boxed game which turns it from a board game to a 3D table top game.

Okay, thanks. This makes sense. I've already ordered the box set.

If you get the base game do you also need the gang's gang card pack? I think so but just want to confirm.

Baffles me that if you get 2 gangs in the base that you have to 'also' go buy their deck additionally.

The base game is very much a starter board game set, with it being intended that you build and play the game with the fixed predesigned gangs as given. The separate gang war book gives more rules for customizing gangs, and the cards also give you more options for your given gang than the taste that comes in the box set. The starter box is exactly that, something to get you going, not a complete Necromunda experience. For better or worse, it is following the same path as Blood Bowl 2016 did, in having a basic starter set, followed by sold separately advanced rules and teams.

Yeah and thats totally fine I get it, I was just curious cause I just bought Shadespire and it did come with all the special cards needed for the 2 starter warbands.

So sounds like I need the base game, the gang war supplement, and the gang card packs to really have the whole picture.

Looking at it if you are starting fresh and want the "3D" style of game the box sent and gang war supplement will do you just fine, or if you just want to play the game on tiles just the box set will also be fine.

The card decks from looking at them appear to be for those that have existing gangs that they dont want to buy new models for and still play the game but also may include more in depth cards then the starter... I am not sure. The decks come with some gang tactic sets like the box set but also blank cards to make your own from the gang war supplement. Once I get my hands on the decks and supplement more I can let you all know our LGS got this set in early due to buying so many to demo etc and build the hype. I have a book and card video up soon and a video playing the first scenario just been swamped with RL work so hobby has been limited esp video editting

Nice initiative. We are looking forward to it.
I'm excited about a board game which develops into a 3D game.
