The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

The names of the paint colors were hysterical. Worth the price of admission just for that.
Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

He daubs the canvas with swathes of [insert colour] for the chroma-key compositing. It's not like he's actually painting the picture.
Loved the trailer bits, though. Unlike every other superhero movie, it makes me want to watch the movie.
Err, whut? I mean, it's not the most intricate and advanced technique in the world, but he seems like he's doing something very much like painting to me. Canvas, paints, using paints to depict things - painting.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal
All of the videos I'd been linked to were the chroma-key "magic painting appears" segments.
I had to dig to find the actual painting stuff. Oh, an oil painter. So the techniques and stuff gamers are only just getting around to now with weathering ... old stuff that wasn't particularly groundbreaking even in the 90s.
We didn't get PBS stuff where I lived (not being in the USA and all) and I've never regarded watching an artist paint as being "entertaining" (the very definition of watching paint dry) so I've never been exposed to him.
That and I don't get the obsession with "retro" (I lived through the 70s-90s once, I don't need to do it again. Best part about the 70s was that I spent the first 6 years of it deaf).
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Regarding his technique - it was a public TV show intended to demonstrate to total amateurs that anybody can paint with minimal effort, the value in it was in all the folk over the years who got their start "painting along" with him and went on to learn other stuff, or who just found a bit of joy making easy, reasonably nice looking landscapes.
And the thing about watching him now is less about retro and more about the whole run of his show going up on Twitch - people started watching it because the man is almost insufferably nice and his wee catch-phrases are funny(sometimes in a slightly sinister way - talking about "beating the devil out of it" in that sing-song nice old man cult leader voice when he cleans his brush... ), and kept watching it because it's almost hypnotically relaxing(stoners and insomniacs are particular fans ).

"Fascination" is really to strong of a word to describe it but he is fondly remembered by many because he was a nice guy and the show was light hearted fun. As Yodhrin pointed out the show wasn't aimed at advanced students nor professionals. In fact most people that did watch the show never painted but liked Bob and his calm, dulcet tone.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
He may be a "national treasure" but I don't belong to your nation - and I'm happy to keep it that way.
His voice put me to sleep.
The insufferably nice sounding voice makes me turn it off. It's so saccharine sweet that I'm liable to die from diabetic shock if I listen for too long.

Im pumped. Though this is probably the last Deadpool movie before everything goes to Marvel. Unlikely these characters will stay in this incarnation. Such a shame that fox could only get the 2 movies right.
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
Wow... And I don't mean in just a yay Deadpool way, I mean, like actually... wow.
I didn't know how they were going to do Cable really but it genuinely looks like they're playing him pretty straightly.
Which is, well, wow. It kinda means my fever dreams of Cable being the 'connective tissue' between the X-Men franchises could actually be a thing. Ok, sure, not likely exactly but still...
Like, I really do want Cable to walk up to Logan's Laura and say, "do you want to save your father? Do you want to fix this?" Then take her back to McAvoy's Academy.

Disney already confirmed Deadpool will remain a separate R18+ franchise.
If nothing else, the first money made feth tons of money. Disney likes money. They will let it go until it ceases to make so much money.
