At INSTAR we're looking at something that's better than water but safer than white spirit, alcohol or solvent based cleaner.

We'll announce something if our tests our successful!

Isopropyl alcohol and a brush conditioner (which I get from my local artists supplies store).

I'm not a brush licker, and don't huff fumes, and toxicity is a matter of dosage and I don't have any issues because I don't act like a tool around the stuff.

"Solvent" is a pretty open term, btw. WATER is a solvent.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Also had a very good experience with Master's brush cleaner. But I've never used anything else, so I can't compare to other methods.

I got a thing of Master's Brush Cleaner this year when I got back to the hobby and grabbed some Windsor 7's that I wanted to protect, and I've been very happy with it. I'm most of the way thru my puck, almost time to get more!
