I want to ad kronos to my leviathan army. Looking at the example in the book kronos is the excact oposet. White is black, purple is orange, red is teal green.

Do anybody have a better sugestion for a kronos splinter fleet?

I was thinking maybi black with a red metallic carapace, like a beetle. But i have no airgunn. Sugestions?

Just paint them up as leviathan but add some marking to the carapace. Anything with the markings is a tendril that functions as kronos as part of your leviathan splinter.

I'd just invert Leviathan's and use them as a splinter fleet with Krono's rules.

Kronos i very near invert leviathan. I think it will look a bit tacky in the middel of the other models.

Is it? Thought they were red and black. I was saying purple body with bone colored chitin.

Hive Fleet Kronos is red and black.

What he's suggesting isn't to "invert" it in the sense of using the negative colours, but "invert" it in the sense of swapping the carapace and flesh colours around.

It won't look like standard Kronos, but it will be distinct and tie them together.

Personally, I would suggest using the same pale skin as Leviathan, but use the orange-red carapace from Kronos. The differing carapace helps them stand out while the shared flesh tone ties them together as part of the same army.

But they would not be the same army, they are different fleets. You would not paint blood angels blue because they are ultramarine allies.

I would if it was a Blood Angels librarian In seriousness, I wouldn't paint them the same, but I'd try to ensure they were visually linked them together with things like having the joint ribbing the same, maybe the same gun cases etc. It's getting the balance between them being different Hive Fleets according to the background and yet the same army (even if different detachments) in game terms. You said earlier that you were concerned that having standard Kronos units mixed in with standard Leviathan ones might look odd, and you're asking about possible splinter fleet colours. It's not a big jump to assume you're looking for something which ties them together a little.

If you're looking to keep it very similar to the default Kronos scheme but with a tweak so it's not quite such a stark difference, may I suggest going with a very dark brown with the flesh and using a relatively subdued, deeper red for the carapace? That should make the contrast slightly less stark. Another, similar option would be a deep purple-black for the flesh and a brighter purplish-red for the carapace, which is clearly distinct and tied to the default Kronos scheme, but again gives it a sense of coherency which should prevent the tackiness issue.

The other option, of course, is to say it's not so much a Kronos splinter fleet, but that it's an adapted Leviathan fleet which has adapted in a similar way to Kronos, and therefore uses their rules.

I think that would be hard to paint and contrast a lot, if you want close, maybe to the white levithan akin with the dark blue wash instead of purple and then for the carapace do black with blue feathering

Bad analogy. Nids are known to change colors and markings in different environments if the advantage is worth adapting to. There might even be unintentional color variations as a side effect of other adaptations, like breathing a chlorine based atmosphere. Also Hive fleet are an illusion. They are all just part of the single macro organism.

Basically, you can use any adaptation with any color scheme and it would always be fluffy.
