Hey everyone,

I hope that you're all well?

I wanted to introduce myself, as the newst freelance/commission painter on Dakka.

I'm Marc, the principal artist and creator of Painting Forge. I just made the jump from being a full-time academic (lawyer - booo/hisss) to be a miniature artist, making a life-long dream a reality. I have over 20 years of experience painting miniatures by Games Workshop (Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40,000, Necromunda, Bloody Bowl etc), having recently started to explore other model manufacturers, such as Warlord Games (Bolt Action, Beyond the Gate of Antares, Black Powder), Privateer Press (Warmachine, Hordes), and I have just started collecting X-wing.

I'll be uploading a whole bunch of photos, so you can see the standards that I work to.

Any tips on models that are *must haves* to include in my developing portfolio?

Painting aside, I'm rather excited about the re-release of Necoromunda, and I really hope that the new rule system is enjoyable to play (if not, then I'm happy to fall back on the 1995 version).

I've heard from friends that this place is a really great site, and I hope to hear from you, either in general, or because you have an exciting mini that you need painting (I am really hoping that someone wants the new Sly Marbo model painting to a display standard; I would love to get my hands on him). There are so many ways to get in touch with me.

Best,

Marc

Rather than start a new thread, I will piggyback Marc's. I'm James, (aka JamesY on my personal dakka account), and I will be assisting Marc with a sister project to commission painting-Gaming Forge. We are looking into new and unique ways to deliver a lifetime's passion-collecting toy soldiers, creating armies, building terrain, writing articles etc, basically anything that we can think of that we get excited about. We do have a primary service that we are looking into offering, one we are optimistic about being able to begin in the near future. More information will come soon.
