A watch. Some jewelry to give as gifts for Christmas. The Planet of the Apes (new ones) box set. Nothing fancy.
I'm thinking of picking up a cross bow though. I've never been into actually getting a gun cool as they are, but cross bows are neat. Don't suppose anyone on Dakka knows a good "starter kit" collection of items for an entry level... cross bower? Cross bowsman? Whatever XD
Eh, already did my biggest splurge: new Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10" tablet, on sale for $100.
I am keeping an eye on the prices for a new 1070 video card, but I'm not in too much of a hurry just yet to replace my 970.

Just some digital games on Steam and Live that were on sale, but mostly cheap stuff, and most were 'buy as gift' to my wife's account. I may get the Morrowind Expansion for ESO while it is on sale but still kind of 'meh' on it.

Not doing anything this year. Paying for a very expensive cruise for after I get home from my deployment. We signed up for one of those deals that gives us free drinks and dining on their expensive restaurants, but had to have it paid off by Christmas, instead of the cruise dates. So all of our extra play money has been going towards that.
Something I found interesting, they don't do Thanksgiving here in Romania, but they do "celebrate" Black Friday.
Earlier this week I bought a new pressure reducing valve and had it installed on my side of the water meter, as well as had a chunk of pipe which had burst along side the driveway fixed. That was my Christmas spending, and then some.
Every time a terrorist dies a Paratrooper gets his wings.
Just dropped $waytoomuch on some alt-art X-Wing cards and damage decks from an artist I really like. Ugh, I've become a willing participant in black friday...
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
Well, the Kingdom Death pledge manager just reopened, so that's going to be a bit more money from me.

Aww I forgot they did pretty decent black friday stuff. I will be strong this time, as it'll be at least next Black Friday before I can actually paint them.
Got a tiny PC too. So instead of spending £350 on an all-in-one, I spent £270 on a PC + TV. Now I just need to spend a fortune on additional storage for it (comes with 32GB).
Im splurging on some weird gifts for my step son and mother in law. They are Charlestown Chiefs Hockey Jerseys from the movie Slapshot. Kinda unusual and frivilous. I would like to get some for the whole fam including wife step daughter and me, theyre just so dang expensive.. $150 per.
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Not all of "Black Friday" is the crazy doorbuster* sales and most don't magically just have money for the day either. Many, if they are planning on a new TV, Bluray player, PC, et al know this will be a time when those things are heavily discounted and begin saving up for that day.
*meaning they either open early or have items that are extremely discounted for the first bit in limited numbers. These are the ones you see people camping out for as well as pushing up against doors early in the morning. It is the part where you see the worst aspects of avarice, generally.

..had a look at some RPG books etc etc.. but mainly pdfs at reduced prices which I'm not bothered about really.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
