Don't know if another thread has asked this,,
Can anyone let me know if the tactics cards for the Goliath and Escher gangs in the card sets are dupes of the ones in the box (or each other in any way) or if they are all different?
Not looking for the names or rules on the cards, just if they are different so worth spending the money on them.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost in time, like tears...in rain

Each gang specific card box has 8 gang only tactic cards, 12 generic gang tactic cards, and 6 blank fighter cards. The gang specific ones are not duplicates of the box game; they are all unique. The 12 generic gang tactic cards are not duplicates from the box game either; they are new also. Also, the 12 cards from the Escher and Goliath boxes are not the same - so if you buy both boxes, there are actually 24 new generic gang tactic cards in all you could use. The blank fighter cards are as you would expect, identical.

Thank you.... I have both boxes on order with my FLGS, but they didn't get shipped and wanted to make sure that between them all, I was not going to get any doubles.
Love the extra blank ganger cards. So far, based on having fallen in love with the first rendition of the game, this one gets two thumbs up,,, now I just want my Cawdor plastic gang.....

I was kind of surprised to see the 12 generic cards were distinct in each set. You get two of each in the main box game. I suppose that is to prevent players from fighting over who gets what and knowing what the other guy has. Now, someone with these boxes will potentially have a wider selection than an opponent that does not.

I imagine this is similar marketing to Shadespire. Even if you have no interest in the Escher gang, buying the Escher card pack still gets you 12 tactics and 6 blanks you don't have.

Wow,,, I had misunderstood,, I had thought that the 12 generic cards were going to be like the box set and be 2 each of 6 tactics.
Definitely see your point about wanting to get all of the cards even if you don't have that gang. I wonder if they will release packs of just blank cards also. Smart bet would have been to put blank ones in the gang boxes so you would always have cards for new gang members.

Someone on BoardGameGeek wrote out all the titles of the cards in a thread on the Necromunda Underhive forum here -
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1890535/gang-card-decks

It's definitely a ploy like Shadespire to get you to buy stuff you otherwise would pass on, as about half of the 60 cards in those expansions are usable by any faction. I'm not sure it will get you a huge advantage in necromunda, but it will make it more likely you'll have a card that would be useful on a certain map or scenario.

I'm sure I'll end up picking up at least the Goliath cards, as I already have the gang in the box. Might end up eventually with the decks for the other gangs, but I doubt I'll feel the lack if I don't.

I'll stick to this thread rather than starting a new one...

Does anyone know of a place or manufacturer that does card sleeves to fit these?
I don't really want to start wearing the cards out before I get some sleeves for them (yeah... sad I know)

I'm not trusting GW to make any. The Shadespire sleeves seemed to have been made to the exact size of the card and are a real squeeze to fit in and still poke out the top slightly, leading to white edging on the card tops. They were a lovely matt finish and good design, but GW need to ensure the things fit well in future.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

Closest I've found are sleeves for the Dixit game.
They're a very loose fit but the sleeves are actually big enough to hold the cards, at least.

The size GW uses is horrible. If you're lucky it's the same as Blood Bowl and those cards are getting sleeves now after more than 1 year.

I'm gonna print out my own cards, put them over magic cards inside sleeves. That way I can expand with any limited/event card. Also some cards previously released by GW have slightly different color on the back so you can notice them while shuffling the deck or drawing top card.

It's just me (and very few others) who are pissed off of those "card thing"?

I mean: i already bought the base game.
Then i had to buy Gang War, 'cause you can't play campaign (neither play with 3D terrain) without Gang War
now i need to buy Escher Cards Pack to have all options for my escher gang
then i will need to buy every gang's Cards Pack to have all general options...

apart from discovering the basic Necromunda: Underhive is just a demo-version, with only a fraction of the rules i will need, the whole "you need to buy every other gang cards to have a complete game" is really bad thing... and everyone need to buy them too, 'cause they are only single copy...
plus i imagine Cards Pack for every special characther/hired gun they will create
and then special offer cards
and why not? every once and while a special card expansion pack for a specific campaign, with increased usefulness and even more powerfull than usual...

I'm just not going to use them. I think they're already quite unbalanced (and more importantly unfun) and it's only going to get worse as more are released.

I'm considering not using them either - they don't really seem like they're indispensable to the game.

To add on your frustrations, Gang War is very much part of the "demo" package too.

You don't need the cards though, they're optional for those who want that level of random stuff.

The cards are something that, based on finishing the Betrayal @ Calth campaign, can actually be pretty cool. They can be frustrating when someone plays a gotcha but that just means you also have access to gotcha cards, too.

I agree they're more for cinematic play, though.

Be careful with those cards... You thought the dice gods were fickle... wait till you throw in the monkey wrench.
