What kind of gang do you prefer: named (as in the box) or customized characters?
I guess that I'll go for customization.

Same here. Using the premade guys just feels... off.

Totally agree. This week my plan is to make 6 custom Esher and 6 custom Goliath will leave the rest to make after play a lot of games (not gunna bother making their pre-made suggestions). I don't really like these 2 factions just bought to see how goes, but maybe will grow on me. Waiting for new Cawdor and Delaque.

I made my Escher custom.

Ended up cutting up some of the hairs so gangers don't match. I enjoy the dynamic poses but was disappointed with having duplicates and little can be done to change it. Each tosro only has 2 made to fit options and green stuff is required for swaping most arms to a different torso.

Either way still loving my gang!

Hoping to see more weapon options in the future.

It's all about the custom gangs.

Coming up with your own names, own stories, own rivalries, and so on.

Okay.

But so far its only Goliath vs. Escher. That's a pity.

For new players, sure, but there are the legacy rules that an add some variety with the basics of the other 4 main houses.

Learning the game? Stick with the presets. It's one less thing to worry about.

Playing the game and campaign? Custom jobs all the way. And remember - if you actually take you time on the eyes when painting, it's proven to improve the model's accuracy.

I mean my next Escher Gang is already going to be called Seven's Deadly Sinners.

The three Juves will be Mindy, Bindy and Cindy.

I'm definitely in the "DIY" house on this one - I'm making a concerted effort to assemble none of my models the same the GW premades. Admittedly, that's only really amounts to a headswap on some (Goliath stub gunners, for example), but I'd much rather make up my own gangs, with their own names and fluff.

For instance, I'm theming my Goliaths on the War Boys from Mad Max Fury Road (movie and game - the Champion with renderizer and gasmask look like the game's optional "Top Dog" bosses).
So flaming metal skull motifs, lots of white body paint (ash from the furnaces) and I'll give the leader a facemask and bleached white hair. I'll resist naming him Immortan Jack though - seems a bit "on the nose"

Except for that one name you keep reusing which always gets a Juve killed.

Juves don't get names. Once they mature a bit, then everyone else stops calling them "kid" or "hey, new guy".
