Below are the units my close wargaming buddy plays with Chaos but still hasn't settled on a strong list to combat my Imperial Fist. Suggestions to improve/drop/add units are much appreciated.

The philosophy is to run and advance all the Renegades toward the frontline and tie down key units while deep strking Termies, Daemon prince uses the relic for 2+ save and 1W regained, Heldrake and Maulerfiend arrive simultaneously hitting multiple sides and the chosen in the rhino with the chaos lord ride around picking on targets. Cultists sit back on objectives but they tend to be unsupported towards the ends of games.

Thoughts on what's good what's terrible and how can it fit the Iron Warriors and Renegades theme. All criticism is welcome we need Chaos to run rampant!

Well your sorceror and demon prince are not priced correctly. Have him go check their costs and he will save about 60 points. I would blob up the cultists into one 20 man unit. That gives you more reason to use the stratagem and replace them all.

Drop the plasma chosen and turn them into plasma havocs, I would also drop the possessed and get some melta raprora to drop in with the plasma terms.

A good tactic would then be to pick a flank and weaken it and then drop the raptors and terms on it and use the tide of traitors stratagem to take the cultists too. This will force your opponent to deal with them or the rhino and maulerfiend coming

Chosen with plasma would be better as Havocs with plasma.

Power fists on small shooting units are not great.

Possessed are not great.

Daemon prince might be better with 2x malefic talons instead of the axe also.

Other than that, seems like a fine not-super-competitive army.
