As the title says, with the new edition I decided to jump back into the money and timesink that is 40k with a couple of friends. Whilst they are almost starting from scratch i dusted off my old unpainted 4th and 5th edition tau and decided to begin sprucing them up with a new lick of paint.

The last time i played was shortly after 5th edition came out, i drifted away for a multitude of reasons. Mostly due to a crippling lack of self esteem during that part of my life, but not helped by continually losing against all and sundry. It wasn't until shortly after i stopped that i found out my most common opponent was cheating in all his games through a wide variety of means just so he could always have the thrill of winning. As for everyone else, they were far older with professionally painted armies and a far deeper understanding of the game than i could ever hope to achieve at that point.

So with the old guard stripped and ready to paint again, as well as some new toys from the time I missed (seems that i missed the editions where tau were riding high) we're setting up 750 point minileague. The caveat being that everything must be painted and based, no grey plastic. It's slow going but i feel the results are worth it, far better than what I could hope to acheive back in the day, perhaps I joined the hobby too early.

Here is the list i'm painting towards

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...
