I saw this on humble and I’m definently going to buy it, and thought I’d let everyone know. Forgive me if this has already been covered but essentially I know there are a few people (including myself) who wanted to play Dow III but couldn’t be bothered with the price tag. Humble right now has probably the best humble monthly bundle I’ve seen before, so if you want to play Dow I’d advise checking this out.

Warning - DOW 3 is widely reputed to be terrible, with poor plot, poor voice acting, and average at best gameplay. Would recommend anyone take the time to read a review and or watch some let's plays before spending any money, even at a Humble Bundle price.

Damnit. I just bought it during the winter sale.

As compared to what? The rest of the GW based video games? I don't think there has been a GW game with God plot or voice acting so far. DOW II was a disaster but DOW I was pretty good. DOW III so far seems better than DOW II

Probably still a bit too high of a price. Game died so fast (due to the design/gameplay) that Relic abandoned it and any potential for expansions/DLC.

As compared to other RTS games. Or MOBA games, since DoW III tried to sit in the middle of RTS and MOBA.

Sadly I've heard nothing but negative about this game. I'd probably only consider this game for $5 or so.

This game would only be worth 12 dollars, if you where paid said amount for instaling it on your computer. It is every bit as bad or worse as the reviwes says it is. Witch is considering the previous DoW games quite sad

You get about 10 other games in the bundle, so even if you don't end up liking DoW 3 you'll probably find $12 of value in there. Plus you're supporting charity.

Try DoW2. Solid gameplay (better than DoW1 and by far better than DoW3), decent voice acting, and the plot squeezes about as much as it is possible to squeeze out of a cast of space marines.

If a game is bad, why spend money on it period?

Just play a game that's not bad, that you've already spent money on.

Yeah, a game so bad that you're not going to play it is worth nothing.

Sometimes you just need to try something for yourself. Also, again, it's a pack of about 10 games. There's going to be $12 value in there somewhere.

Aside from Dawn of War 3 you also get the Long Dark (€31,99) and Quantum Break (€36,99) as your early unlocks, so the whining about $12 not being good value for just Dawn of War 3 is idiotic, as you get two well-received games as well.

Curious as to why people think the voice acting is bad though? Lady Solaria's delivery of her lines is excellent! The orks are delightfully hammy! If anything, the voice lines are one of the few good parts of the game. Or is the vitriol because they got another voice actor for Gabriel for this game?

I definitely don't think it's as bad as it's being described here. It's not DOW1, obviously, but it was the initial release of No Man's Sky either.

Biggest problem was trying too hard to steer the game towards esports as the next big thing. Nnnnnnnnnnnope.

That and the micro-management. They tried to combine the large armies of the first game with the squad tactics of the second game. I love both games, but when put together it becomes too much of a micro-management ordeal that in the heat of battle is hard to keep track of.

On the bright side, no lootboxes or pay to win schemes, so there's that.

DoW III has terrible campaign, I was one third of a way and felt bored. I can't say anything positive about game mechanics.

Normally I wouldn't recommended it, however as it's for charity and you receive other games, it doesn't strike me as a bad idea.

These days when it comes to PC games there's such a flood of cheap games on sales that price is largely irrelevant to me. I have more games on Steam picked up for a couple of dollars here and a couple of dollars there that I will never actually have time to play them all. There's literally games I've seen on sale for under $5 that look interesting that I still haven't bought because I know I'll never get around to playing them

I tend to just buy games I intend to play immediately regardless of the price these days. Even if I pay $60 for a game if I get enough enjoyment to actually play it through to the end it's worth it.

Quantum Break and Long Dark, no idea about them, the former has pretty poor reviews and the latter mixed reviews. Haven't looked in to them enough to see if they're worth anything.

Though not as much or as frequent as was initially planned for. They've gone as far as to remove locked content from the game, like the Deathwatch skin for Gabriel.

And it's not even just Dawn of War 3 that you're getting. You're also getting Quantum Break, The Long Dark and whatever other games get added later.

1) You cannot win. 2) You cannot break even. 3) You cannot stop playing the game.

Well, it got less than 400k sales according to SteamSpy. Not bad compared to a lot of games, but for a AAA title it's pathetic, so probably got put on the backburner.

I hated DOW 2 with a passion. It would suddenly switch from an ok RTS to some kind of gauntlet arcade BS in the middle of a mission. I get they wanted to make an RTS for non-RTS players, but that thing was a compromise that noone in their right mind should have enjoyed with a healthy dose of Warp Dust.

It szhould also be noted that those are only the three previewed games. There will generally be another half dozen games that you'll get once Jan 1st rolls around.

I don't have much time for video games, but the values of each monthly bundle has been so good I've kept subscription. Generally something on my steam wishlist ends up in each one.
