Does anyone know of any instances where the Adeptus Mechanicus has used blanks in 40k lore for any reason?

Not that I am aware. If they need anti-warp shenanigans they generally rely on technology or other branches of the Imperium e.g. in Master of Mankind they are fighting alongside SoS.

It is not to say some Magos Biologis isn't tinkering with blank genetic make up but pariahs are a rare commodity for the Imperium so they probably don't want to waste them.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Which technology exactly?

In one of the books they discover an STC for effectively a reality bomb which closes warp rifts. Gellar fields, which can even cover a planet i.e. Titan, and Cawl is rumoured to be trying to replicate the warp repulsion effects of Necron pylons.

Just a few examples.

Didn't that bomb also plunge whatever location it was constructed at into a warpstorm?

No idea, never read the fluff behind it just aware of it as an example
