Who’s best in the competitive scene? Hive Guard, the exocrine or the tyrannofex?

They are all good!
Shock guards are best, vs vehicles. Then excoshrine vs everything except t8 3+, rupture cannon tyranofex beats there. Impaler cannon follow exoshrine. Then rupture cannon tyrano.
If you have enough warriors (18) and a prime warriors venoms breaks even with hive guards. Hvc god fex fitt around here.
Flamer tyranofex is also good, especially vs flyers.
Then there are 2 stratgems. 1 for troops and 1 for mc's. Good luck.

Initially i was thinking 6 hive guard would be enough ranged firepower for my army. Should i get even more? How much of your army do you dedicate to long range shooting?

Nids now dont need any honestly, but some is always good IMO. Really that is a question for your playstyle.
I personally like my 6 Hiveguard, 3 Dakka Fexs and 2 Dakka Tyrants, i try to play a bit of static and mobile shooting with lots of small CC

I like around 25% and at least 25% in some sort of multi purpose units that include ranged attacks. (Does not need to ber warriors, can also be hive tyrant etch.)
This is not a clear rule though. Kraken lists can probably be all genestealers.

I personally like 6 Hive Guard and an Exocrine. The TFex just feels left out competitively, it still is not as good. Both get separate very powerful stratagems. +1 damage and shoot twice can both be brutal.
