Looking to expand my army a bit, and was thinking about grabbing some hellhounds. Largely to help vs fliers (pesky alaitoc make my lascannons feel useless) and because exploding in the enemy is a great way to die for the Emperor. Plus, they don't receive the -1 for targeting non-fliers.

Do you find that you get your points worth in them? I'm building out a fairly mixed infantry/mechanized list right now, just looking for on-the-table experience. Mathhammer is fine too, if some other alternative really stands out as a good choice in a TAC list

Thanks.

I enjoy hellhounds myself, they have plenty of range, can really get some work done, and gloriously dying for the emperor has saved me a few games when they kill off a character or 2. Plus they are relatively cheap for vehicles and help fill out a battalion.

Plus they are an ample distraction from your real threats, artillery and Russes.

It really is a shame that Hydras aren't better then they are, I would have hoped for the old old rule that lets them ignore the -1 to shoot from flying, in addition to their standard +1 to shoot fly keyword.
