Hey guys,

So in light of the new FAQ, I thought about how my tournament list needed to change. This is the current iteration I've come up with. Ideas on how to improve it?

Kraken Battalion:

Swarmy - 300
Malanthrope - 140

19 Genestealers - 228 (R)
19 Genestealers - 228 (R)
19 Genestealers - 228
18 hormagants - 90

19 gargoyles - 114

Kronos Battalion:

Neurothrope - 70
Neurothrope - 70

3 Rippers - 33
3 Rippers - 33
3 Rippers - 33

3 Hive Guard - 144
6 Hive Guard - 288

Nope, I'm just gonna steal your list

As long as you think your area plays with enough BLOS terrain to keep Swarmy alive when you don't go first it looks pretty solid. Only thing I would consider is dropping the 3x hive guard to flesh out the Hormagaunts and gargoyles

Swarmy is the only target worthy of your opponent anti-tank assets. If he goes down, the Malenthrope is the only synapse unit for kraken units. I have lost games because I had too little synapses. Your 20-ish squads will get raped during the morale phase after receiving enemy fire if they are not within synapse cover. I would suggest that you drop the Kronos hive fleet and play with 2 kraken detachments. Your neurothrope could than provide synapse cover to kraken squads.

I agree with astro-nomicon’s comment on the second hive guard squad.

All of what you're saying is true if it happens. But if I deploy Swarmy conservatively and he dies, plus my Malanthrope somehow gets sniped out (tough to do with 9 wounds)....well yeah I may be in for it. Swarmy won't be a super easy nut to crack with -1 to hit and a re-roll of one of his failed saves vs a d6 damage weapon.

But synapse is less of an issue now. Yes, it hurts for morale, but again....if the Malanthrope dies on turn 1 or 2, I've likely done something VERY wrong. I think I'm ok with keeping the Kronos for the anti-psyker stratagems, as well as the shooting bonus and hoping that my synapse can last long enough. Never really had an issue with a Malanthrope dying tbh.

Looks dang ggod! The only place you might look at is Swarmy, Krakon is so dang fast...do you Need Swarmy? If not that unlocks a bucket of points. So I personally would test run replacing Swarmy with a Winged Tyrant, and "something" or you might fit two Walk'tyrants in...?

One with MRC, Miasma? One bare bones CC? You might get more interesting play with a few changes.
