Quite literally what the titles says. This is the first time I am on this forum but it’s not the first time I have done table top wargamming. My previous experiences involved a Napoleonic game, Warhammer 40k and the LOTR game. After A hiatus well about 10 years I am back to the hobby.

My aims on here are to expand the fluff involving blacksheild barbarian chapters (with updates of my own the bar barbz: supported by the loyalist Rophosian chapter situated somewhere currently in the eye of terror) Or in other words to most people they are non-Imperium unlinked Astartees living in areas beyond the imperium but employed by the imperium to not raid the empire and to help as effectively border control against threats outside of the imperium. I just love the nature of these careless slightly depressed peoples who are relatively unknown as to whether they were even linked to the Imperium.

Will also be doing a Definitive unofficial official rules community project for Combat patrol with the permission of Tim Ealing (the inventor of Combat patrol, PatrolClash, 40k in 40mins), which I shall do as a PDF down load. . He gave me the thumbs up quite literally on Facebook chat (twice). We are curently recruting people to help with the project so if any one is interested then please leave a message and join the group.

Welcome back to the 40k world. Good time to get back in as you probably already know.

I'm a fan of Combat Patrol, play it every year at Adepticon, so I just followed your Facebook page, I think, not familiar with Facebook that well. I have a small group here in the states that I play with, if you need some help with it.

Wait... you're building non-imperial Astartes? Thats awesome!

BUT

Theres no way in hell the Imperium would ever accept let alone work with such people. Every Human society that is not part of the Imperium gets exactly one chance to join the Imperium. If it refuses it gets wiped out. Non Imperial Astartes are extra-super-duper heretical and would be Inquisitated IMMEDIATLY.

So - I like the Idea. That mercenary part doesnt work for me tho.

No you make a fair point the imperium heirachy are verry stubbon people. Mercanary Astartees is not a new idea, it dates back to rougetrader. Yet they have worked with such peoples in the past the worlds in which the imperial knight and Titans are from are technically not part of the imperium (however in all logical repsects they are). The Titan and knight company excluding those from Mars are rented out to the Imperium. I have got a whole thing written about blacksheild barbs which I shall cut and past in to the forum for another time. The Blacksheild Barbarians live well beyond offical borders of the imperium and often they have common enamies, Kamzari Dragons or Emporers Dragons from the planet of Kamzari (was northern Europe chapter master competition entry) Are heavy belivers in the imperial cult and reside of the planet Kamzari in the mouth of the 'Eye of Terror'. The locals of Kamzari are feudal/feral and have a surprising genetic abillity to withstand (prevent) the effects of the warp which is not quite understood. The cult of the emporer stil does not prevent pirating shiping in the void of imperial space so the imperium struck a deal with the peoples.

Jello (meant to write hello, made a typo, keeping it because it looks ridiculous) and welcome to Dakka!

I applaud anyone who makes their own fluff, creativity is to be celebrated, not shot down. Understand, however, that there are those who are very much into the lore of 40k who will object to nonstandard things such as non-Imperium marines still working with Imperials regularly. Rogue Trader was a very different time, what with half-eldar Librarians and other oddities. Anything from that era is of dubious canonicity at best, unless supported by later lore. That's not to say making your fluff in accordance with RT is bad, I think it's very cool, but expect people to question you.

Expect it, and change their minds with your answer. Deep down, everyone loves Rogue Trader lore.
