This is my 2k list I'm considering for tournament play. I feel this is extremely strong as far as TAC, able to have an answer to just about anything out there while applying a lot of firepower across the table. I can shoot down elite and horde alike with impunity, while the combination of the culexus and greyfax gives me great psychic power denial potential, and vindicares can pick off key buff characters. With tons of command points to spend and regen I feel this is the right mix of units for the job.

It’s an ok start but it’s not optimised I can tell you that.

Starting with the vanguard detachment, the vindicare assassins don't do much, and greyfax doesn’t add too much either. I would drop the whole detachment and take a supreme command with 3+ primaris psykers and a culexus assassin in.

Brigade HQs, Pask is fine maybe find some points for heavy bolter sponsors. Why have your company commanders got power fists, they should never be in combat, drop both power fists.

Brigade Elites, commissars are useless now drop it. The platoon commanders don’t need bolt pistols drop them. Honestly, you won’t need 6 orders a turn, the 4 from the 2 company commanders will do. I would drop all those elites and instead take 3 astropaths with laspistols.

Brigade fast attack, the hellounds will push forward on there own away from the rest of your army. Not the best idea, they’ll be picked off. Take 3 scout sentinels instead as they’re cheaper and can stop enemies deep striking near your stuff with their scout rule.

Brigade troops seem fine.

Brigade heavy support, drop the deathstrike it’s too unreliable, the rest is ok.

I would look into taking taurox prime dedicated transports with taurox Gatling cannons and 2 hot shot volley guns for extra Dakka. Nothing goes in them, it’s just a bucket load more shots.

Sorry if this seems a bit over critical, but if you take the above list to an event vs the full competitive lists in the current meta you might struggle a bit.

Anyone who says Vindicare Assassins don't do much has never put them on the table vs an Eldar player.

I'd be inclined to agree with the rest of the observations however.
What's your plan for moving forward? Whose gunning for linebreaker in this list? You'll need more than 3 Hellhounds to get across the board. [And a lot more than 3 expendable Scout Sentinels, if swapped.]

Don’t know what Eldar players your on about, but the ones I play against tend to bring 35-40 dark reapers and keep their characters out of LOS as best as possible.if you really want snipers take ratlings.

Linebreaker is 1 victory point, also remember that the strength of imperial Guard is to sit back and shoot the enemy off the board. You need to play to your army’s strengths. Objective placement is key with guard, you need them in the open and near your deployment zone.

Good responses, however I was not as much interested in what changes to make to the list since this is what I want to run competitively and took many considerations building it using what I have. The changes described are indeed very competitive I would say I agree with most of it given what i've seen online, but thats the problem...every suggestion made is exactly what everyone expects. It's no-brainer suggestions from start to finish. In fact as I've read most players in top tables are playing almost exactly the same list with minor differences. I'm not interested in that.

While you may think that Greyfax sucks. She gets +1 to deny and combined with a Culexus assassin that's practically a -3 to enemy psychic tests and the combo has performed well for me at shutting down psykers within range. I've yet to test it on a big cheese such as Magnus but I expect he will also struggle to get powers off within range of those 2 combined.

Vindicares can't eliminate EVERY character which may lead you to think they suck. But in my experience and very much in the spirit of sniping...you NEED to pick your battles wisely. They are more than capable of killing a Lieutenant, Company Commander, Harlequin Troupe Master, etc etc.

I can use assassins to get linebreaker if needed, aside from the hellhounds that usually do tend to cross enemy lines and at that point not many enemies try 'hard' to kill one while risking an explosion.

Deathstrike missile isn't competitive I agree. So it will either be ignored or shot off the table immediately. Either way I win. The few games it does get to be fired tho...quite useful. And much like the Manticore on turn 5. After it shoots all weapons I rush it up for linebreaker.

Now i'm not saying I will take first place with this list. But I do think it's original while keeping a competitive edge for TAC.

I will concede fully tho that my elites are lacking. Mostly because I have nothing else i own that is cheap enough to unlock the brigade and get everything else I want in there.

I just played a match last sunday against Magnus list, with Astra militarum that had a lot more firepower than yours, and magnus won 40-0 victory points. I definately recommend scout sentinels to give you more time to shoot
