In my gaming group Warmahordes is dead, leaving me with some armies I can't even offload. However I'm a huge fan of skirmish games so perhaps I can salvage this with some Company of Iron. I've seen precious few reviews however, so how are people finding it?

I have found it to be a great game, I enjoy the skirmish aspect of it and the small group dynamic. It is what I was hoping AoS would have been more like. IT is imo better than warmahordes.

I'd love to give it a go but PP has made the cards direct only and I'm not shelling out for box of mini's I don't want

yarp but overseas postage doubles the price, which admittedly isnt PP fault as overseas postage seems to have jumped across all the state side geek vendors ( the $ to £ rate hasnt helped either)

@Turnip Jedi-You tried the DriveThruRPG direct-to-print cards? Not sure what UK shipping is like, but we got a couple of decks to Australia, pretty reasonably.

We've been playing CoI for the last few weeks-it's been great fun.

We've found that small teams fare badly, that you need decent numbers rather than pure quality.

Hand size is important, anything three or less is going to struggle badly, four is bare minimum and should probably be reconsidered.

Some models are not worth their requisition cost-Kayazy eliminators, for example, are not worth taking, at -2 requisition.

We've been working on a way to integrate warcasters, while keeping the skirmish vibe and balance, because we'd like to run a campaign, and warcasters are iconically Warmahordes-been working alright so far, still need tweaking.

My $0.02, which since 1992 has rounded to nothing. Take with salt.

Thats an excellent site Far, sadly the postage is still the sticking issue being about £10 on a £6 order, hopefully PP will see sense and stick them in the PDF database at some point so I can get them printed by one of the excellent online services in UK

I bought the box with the rules and tokens. Apparently the tokens are just printed sheet and we need to use scissors to get them?
I was very very disappointed when I saw that. Is it for real?

Mine were cardboard punchout, no scissors necessary.

Mine aren't :(. I will ask at the store next time I go there. Maybe it's just the French version?

That way,then left

It's most likely a problem with the French version.
I had a single game for now and I think it's got potential
