Hi guys,

I'm just starting out with Nomads and am considering the following list to build towards:

Does this work as a list? We're doing a Grow League right now, and I can make most list sizes with this combination of models, as well as painting towards a potential ITS list.

Am I missing anything? Thoughts on changes? I have heard TAGs may not be the way to go, but I really like the models and would love to run one. I'm choosing the Iguana because it works in both the Sectorial and the Vanilla army.

It's a fine start that will give you plenty to work with while learning some models you like. Nothing wrong with it. Could it be improved? Probably? Is it cool stuff that's good enough to learn with? Definitely.

Is there a reason you picked specifically those models and/or points?

You said you're doing a grow league, what are the point values?
What models do you have in your collection?
Are you just buying stuff piecemeal from split-boxers/eBay/whereever or are you buying boxes?

Having the Mobile Brigada basically screams "KILL ME I'M THE LIEUTENANT" since nothing else from your list could potentially be the Lieutenant.

The Iguana takes up a lot of points that could serve you well with stuff to bulk up a Mobile Brigada Fireteam or even just some more MBs with MRs or BSGs(which, I might add, can be a Lieutenant as well...) to act as rambos.

I bought the 300 point set and the Vanilla starter, but I'm not tied to those specific sets, as I can pick up other stuff as needed.

The grow league is doing a 120, 150, 200, 300 point spread, I'm just planning for the 300 point and will play with variations at the different point levels.

As for why I chose models, I kind of picked them on looks more than anything. I know I could be better suited with more MBs instead of the Iguana, but I really love the model and want a TAG in my list, at least to start with.

Would you suggest I pick up other guys that could be the Lt and hide them throughout the list?

Alright. I can work with this then.

Why not start small for a TAG then?

Bring a Gecko instead of an Iguana. Geckos are AVA4(!) in CJC and AVA2 in Vanilla. They can also be fielded as a Fireteam: Duo in CJC if you want to.

I would just because CJC doesn't have anything with Chain of Command to prevent Loss of Lieutenant from being a factor.

The Iguana is a great showpiece model but when the rubber meets the road, it can be a tad bit lackluster. Geckos play to CJC's strength which is weight of numbers and firepower.

What would you suggest bringing with an Iguana?

Is it worth taking a Lt as part of a Linked Team?

I really like the following models (including the Geckos):

Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

6
GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . (0 | 53)
GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 54)
GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
SEÑOR MASSACRE (Fireteam: Haris) Breaker Combi Rifle, E/M Grenades, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, E/M CCW. (0.5 | 30)
JAGUAR Light Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 13)
JAGUAR Light Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 13)

1.5 SWC | 185 Points

That leaves me with 115 points to play around with, and works out well for the grow league, as I can swap out a Gecko early to get more bang for my buck.

How important are hackers when running TAGs? Can I get by without a Hacker at all? Are Medics/Doctors or Engineers important?

Thanks for all the help so far!

Alguaciles Link Team and Jaguars, along with at least a Bandit with Killer Hacking Device and a Tomcat Engineer.

Is it worth taking a Lt as part of a Linked Team?

It can be, depending on what kind of Link Team we're talking. You generally don't want a Rambo Lieutenant Link Team as Nomads since you don't have Chain of Command.

It depends on the TAG and your opponent's list.
Medics/Doctors can be important, but in order of importance for supporting a TAG:
Engineer->Hacker->Everything else.

In general, the more expensive TAGs benefit more from having Engineers and a sturdy pool of Orders to draw from then they will from anything else. Hackers are a good thing to have, but unless the opponent will have Hackers?

They can potentially be wasted/overkill points.

Thanks for all the help so far!
