Like the title says, this is a really noob question. Where in the DA codex does it tell you what you have to do to get more command points. I know you get three for being battle forged, but with getting more is there a page that says how many flyers to have for a command point or tanks? Sorry I'm late to the party, with the DA book out, I"m just starting with 8th. Thanks in advance!

You get more command points mainly by taking various Detachment of models. Details are on pgs 240 through 245 of the main rulebook.

It's all covered in the core rulebook. You get 3 for battleforged + the value of your individual detachments. You spend them on strategems during and just before play.

ie: If you bring two batllations (3 cp each) You'll have 9 command points total:

3 battleforged + 3 battalion + 3 battalion

Ah OK, I was hoping it was in the DA book so I would not have to buy a starter or the main rule book.

Yeah -but- all the rules needed for during the game are in the free rules. For the detachments, you can usually get guidance from a fellow player as they are pretty straightforward.
