Hi all
So I have a funny feeling that I'll be getting Necromunda for Christmas and I've been happily churning out scenery, but I'm not sure how much would be useful. Is the new game best played on 3x3' or 4x4' boards?
I tried laying the stuff made so far and I think I can reasonably cover a 3x3 and I'm almost out of materials. Should I order more and get cracking again, or is this enough?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

There is pretty much no such thing as "too much terrain" for Necro. But it is playable in almost all conditions except for planet bowling ball, it's just that different forces and tactics will be dominant depending on the table. What you want as a bare minimum is at least small cover within a running distance from any other terrain feature, all over the table. And it is better to have crowded ground level plus occasional single level building here and there than a single, multi-level building in the middle of the otherwise barren board.

I agree with Nou, especially now with the Aim action making cover potentially less effective (I have only played a handful of games so not sure if that will actually be the case).
Looks like a great board you're going to have there, keep up the good work!

Depends.
If you’ve got height, the footprint can be smaller, otherwise the Gangs will never get up to the top levels.

Thanks for the guidance guys. I think then I'll finish off the current materials and then pause to paint it all up before getting more.

I can't say if your setup is optimal, but I have to say, that's a really cool looking board already - bet it'll look awesome once painted up!

Thanks. Its defiantly not optimal but I just needed to see it all on the board. Currently standing at 2x 2 storey buildings and 1 each of 1 storey, 3 storey and 4 storey. Planning to get another couple of 1 storey buildings sorted from my remaining materials and probably a bit more scatter terrain. That should be enough to fill a 3x3.

I prefer a 4' x 4' playing area for Necromunda. It's big enough to give you plenty of strategic options but not too big given you're basically playing a skirmish game and not a game with multiple army units.
