If one were to get a 3d printer for some terrain projects, is there a specific type of filament that will work best with paint/glue for terrain?

I think most people use PLA or ABS
they both should glue fine with super glue. for abs there are abs cements.
spray prime with a filler primer , sand a ton, prime again and it should paint up just fine.

PLA is the way to go. Some folks like ABS for the ability to smooth it with acetone vapor, but it requires higher heat and the volatiles it releases are not as good for you.
And superglue / filling primer, however my terrain is just 'off the printer' black right now as I have armies to work on.

I can't comment any more than what has already been said above,
But,
You might want to use this in your 3D program when scaling the terrain pieces, I used it for mine and it makes everything look correct size wise
