Is the little six page supplement sufficient to play a campaign with the other gangs if you have the expansion book? I'm in the middle of relocating back to the states so I'm on hiatus for wargaming except for my one carryon box. The starter box seems a good kit even if I don't want Goliath or Escher, which I don't think I do.

The booklet gives enough rules for the other 4 main gangs to be used in a campaign.

Also you need the starter box for the rulebook and dice, if nothing else, unless you pick those up separately on ebay/elsewhere.

Starterbox for the rules.
Gang War 1 for the campaign stuff.
Legacy booklet for the other 4 main gangs.

That's it really.

Do you really need the starter box for the rules? I don't have any interesting in Escher or Goliath.

It's the only place you can get the rulebook. And the firepower dice.

No getting firepower dice in Escher and Goliath dice sets sold separately?

The pdf is a mess, the rulebook is a mess and Gang War 1 is very limited.

All the rules are pretty much a mess, the game is very much in development at the moment. There's missing rules and inconsistencies all over the 3 different sources.

Escher and Goliath dice (with matching house symbols and colors) are available separately. So you can buy those by themselves.

The core rulebook, however, still isn't available separately and there's nothing brewing that I've seen to indicate it will be any time soon, if at all.

You can always track down the core rulebook on ebay.

Well, looks like I'm not starting Necro anytime soon then. I refuse to be forced to buy miniatures I don't care about nor have any intention of using just to get the rules for a game.
Maybe I'll find a copy on Ebay. Still should probably wait until they actually finish the ruleset.

Running around $40 USD including shipping for the core rulebook alone. Honestly wish I had done that instead of buying the core + GW1 when they dropped.

Cool thanks for the info guys. If I get the starter box I may just ebay the minis, but it seems a decent price when you consider everything it includes all together.
