Hi all,

I haven't seen much on this topic. What are some effective ways Death Guard can deal with hordes? In this instance I am only talking about a pure Death Guard force, no soup listing. One of my regular opponents plays orks and generally always fields 30 boyz in multiple squads. Thoughts?

Plague wind, plague spitters, rapidfire bolters, buffed poxwalker hordes of your own. This is what instantly comes to my mind.

Poxwalkers and the stratagem that allows you to reanimate infantry killed within 7 inches. Even a single unit reaching enemy lines can become cataclysmic when every casualty you cause becomes another reinforcement. You don't even need to kill anything with the poxwalkers themselves. Just have them nearby.

In addition to the above, drones with plaugespitters are great since even if tied up they can disengage and shoot next turn.

also donr forget the relic that acts a bit like plague wind on every model in the unit

also biologus putfier and the nade strat
easy to get 10d6 s4 2dmg mortal wounds on a 6 shots that re-roll 1's to wound!

Dg has no problems with hordes, it has issues with veichles, beside heavy CaC we have no serious long range antitank fire

Had a great match against Tyranids a few weeks ago. I myself bring a minimum of 50-60 cultists and at least 20 pox walkers. Had the cultists out front to shoot his first wave of gaunts. When they charged in to cultists I gained most of them and the gaunts back as pox walkers. Then his trygon tunnel genestealers charged into my 40+ walkers, and even fighting twice with an insane ammount attacks failed to break through. Slowly and surely I managed to kill... All my own cultists, all his gants, gaunts, and stealers. All while Typhus himself flattened the big bugs. Ended the game with nearly 3 times as many pox walkers, excluding the heavy casualties I took from the genestealer charge.

His isolated bugs were met by the bloat drone and Daemon princes. End of the match the Nid player had only backfield Zoanthropes and Venomthropes hiding in a ruin.

a 142pts model shooting 1+1 shots at 4+? and the multi melta has 24" range, no ty.
