There are no Primaris Grey Knights. I wonder why Rowboat didn't give us any "neo-marines"?

Is this just another part of the GW conspiracy to destroy GKs or are they too suceptible to the influences of Chaos (either the Primaris or GW) or do you think that there is some other (non-model) reason?

If you go with the rather silly 1/1,000,000,000 fluff thing...maybe none of the Primaris made it.

Rumor has it that Cawl has untainted Thousand Sons geneseed. Primaris Grey Knights grown from Magnus' untainted geneseed, there are lots of good and bad directions for that to go.

1) Perhaps Roboutte is being true to the Emperor's ruling at Nikea, and so not supporting an openly psychic organization within the Imperium.
2) Last I knew, Grey Knights are not actually an Astartes Chapter, and thus aren't be privy to the new 'Astartes Only' toys. Mind you, they'll probably be able to finagle the Primaris tech for the Ordo Malleus in the not-too-distant future.

My guess is that GW either just hasn't gotten around to the sculpts, or hasn't decided how they want to proceed with GK's.

Personally, I'd really like them to push the Terminator aspect more. That used to be their schtick, though we have no Primaris Terminators either....

I wouldn't say it was a conspiracy so much as the reality that GK are a relatively niche faction. Any GK Primaris kits would have to be bespoke GK sculpts really, it doesn't make sense to make a whole bunch of those when the other Primaris kits serve all Space Marine factions.

Maybe one day they'll do some, maybe it won't be worth it from a business perspective for a very long time. They may not get any new kits that aren't Primaris scale ever, much as many suspect for Space Marines, but that doesn't mean they'll get any in the next few years, they just might not plan to release anything for them for a long time anyway!

If you dislike Primaris, I guess that a win..? For now..?

Grey Knights are an underperforming faction, and didn't warrant the production resources to sculpt bad ass looking ornately armored Primaris Grey Knight models.

Because Grey Knights are terminators. Terminators were already super-soldiery to-the-max elite, and the models were considerably more bulky than the new plastic Guardsmen. They didn't need the scale creep and extra wound to look buff next to cadians. But tacticals did, so we got Primaris Marines. Also, "Intercessor" is apparently easier to trademark than "Tactical Squad"

Roboute and Cawl had nothing to do with making Primaris Marines. They were made in the deep technovaults of ancient terra by joining the holy geneseed of GWs Legal Departimentum with Marketing Administratorum.

I know that GK are not a top seller and that probably GW would need to make special molds for Primaris GKs that's why I said aside from model issues.

I'm just wondering if fluff wise there's a justification. And for the record GKs are an Astartes Chapter, they are chapter 666 of the second founding (GK codex p6). They just don't follow the Codex Astartes ToC [maybe that's why Rowboat won't give them any primaris].

Perhapes they are just too far up the inquisitions phany pack that cawl couldnt get his hands on that delicious gene seeds.

as for model wise it could of totally been done with an upgrade sprue. probably some flavor of shoulder pads and maybe a slight upgraded half psychic hood helmet.

Aren't GK descended from the emperor's geneseed? I guess Cawl didn't have access to it.

yea, my guess is cawl does not have their geneseed. from a model perspective I expect them to get there but as their equipment is all so different they will be whole new sprues or possibly the basic units with upgrade chapter specific sprues.

that'd be my guess, Cawl created the Primaris Marines by having access to the genetic information of the primarchs to improve upon it. so it makes sense he may not have been able to do this with the Grey Knights. Grey Knight may not, strictly speaking be base line marines and are already modifed thus the primaris treatment would be... challanging

Im not 100% on GK fluff but wasnt most GK recruited for normal marines that exhibit great anti daemon psychic powers?

best of the best specificly against daemens?

They would have needed a bespoke kit, and such does not exist yet. Chapters that got the Primaris are all using the same normal Primaris kits.

According to fluff GKs started from some 8 Marines of unspecified chapters and some and 4 lords and administrators "possessed of inquisitve nature and unyiiding strength of mind."

Grey Knight geneseed comes directly from Sons of Horus, Emperor's Children, World Eaters and Death Guard so keep that in mind.

No it doesn't.

As for Primaris Grey Knights, don't put that evil on us.

The original 8 Grey Knights were from fallen Legions, but they got a big vat of mysterious gene seed along with their own private forgeworld and invisible moonbase.

They didn’t get Primaris Marines because they control their own murderously efficient recruitment and winnowing process, and nothing Cawl provides would meet their standards. At the most, they’ll later get the equipment to upgrade their existing marines to Primaris status.

From a lore standpoint the Grey Knights were an attempt to edit the process to make Astartes to make it less susceptible to Chaos influence; think of them as Space Marines v.1.5 to the Primaris' Space Marines v.2.0. Making "Primaris Grey Knights" would be kind of pointless, given that Primaris are better at patching the problems in version 1 than the Grey Knights and the Grey Knights exist to patch problems the Primaris don't have.

And yes, I'm aware that the specialized daemon-fighting role the Grey Knights fill is supposedly something normal Marines are less good at, but due to the...unique way GW has been writing the Grey Knights for the better part of the last decade normal Marines are a lot better at it than they are on the tabletop these days, giving Primaris Marines Nemesis weapons and Brotherhood of Psykers would be a nerf more than anything else.

It'll happen when the current Grey Knight models need to be redone. The Grey Knights will use the Primaris process to upgrade all of their current "normal" marines in the fluff and GW will release the new Grey Knight kits Primaris sized.

My two cents...

Because neither Rowboat or Carl are aware they exist. There is good reason for that. Only Big E and Malcador know/knew about them respectively and for good reason.

So Mr Imperium, why do you have a highly secretive and elite standing force of super-Astartes to combat something which doesn't exist?

Then Superchicken turns up, feths your world........

GW said "Forge the Narrative". This means "we are too lazy to write a comprehensive and balanced rule set, just make something up to plug the gaps" - Ch 4, Page 13387 of the Lexicanus Bullshitticus Translatorum.

RG and Cawl do know about the GK. They helped RG during the gathering storm campaign. 400 years have passed since that point.

If they were to do GK primaries it could be done with just an upgrade sprue of heads and shoulder pads, like what Dark Angels got. Rules wise, brotherhood of psychers, let the Sargent take a force sword, and all the bolt rifles have always-active psybolt ammo. Now they are a GOOD fire support unit with staying power, some thing GK need.

Magnus. More broadly it could refer to any Lord of Change, being as they're giant bird things and "chicken" is a common diminutive nickname that can be applied to anything vaguely birdlike.

Because Cawl might be able to get primarch and pure gene seed samples but the Grey knights secret sauce is beyond even him.

Is it even gene seed as known?

The thing is there too deep with the inquisition for Mars to have much influence. They Don, t even tell much to there own private fprgeworld.

Theres a good reason why for the list
