So, yeah, its been ten thousand years and these guys are still shuffling around feeling sorry for themselves. I understand the Dark Angels being concerned about the Imperium's reaction to the incident on Caliban, but I'd say they took pretty decisive action. I mean, what's the Imperium going to say? "You guys didn't kill everyone and blow up the planet enough", "You haven't been tracking down and torturing to death traitors for ten thousand years seriously enough"? And besides haven't they saved the galaxy a couple times since then? All I'm saying is the Whitescars seemed to have gotten over their episode.

Having said that I can at some level understand their shame. I have tried and failed to paint Dark Angels several times. I decided the release of the new codex would be a good opportunity to try again and finally prevail. My issue has always been the green armor, never able to get a good color. I think I have gotten a good mix now and have a couple pics.

I plan to make the army as much Mark IV armor as possible, I just like the plain, unadorned look. Also, Ravenwing and Deathwing contingents. Lots of Primaris guys will be part of this too. Anyway, a couple pics to begin.

Maybe by the time this is done, the Dark Angels and I will be redeemed.

Quick update. 2 very remorseful and hate filled Primaris Aggressors. I think the green is working out ok. I’m going to try and work in the armor a little bit more. I want it to pop but not look too unrealistic. That’s always been my reluctance with edge highlights. It usually looks fantastic, but not at all realistic. Anyway......

And so another army begins. Always fun to watch you build and paint something new.

I like the green. It might just be those particular models, but they feel like they could use a little more spot color. Although I suspect that it’s because you can’t really see the color on the guns, due to them being built into the fists. They also don’t look to have any pouches/pistols/etc.

Keeping the bases plain?

Hey Nevelon, thanks for dropping by. I agree they feel a little plain. I need to paint the company emblem on them, that should help. These guys are basically my test models. Probably not the best idea to use Primaris aggressors as test models, but what the hell. I plan to keep the bases that color with some grass tufts. Just wanted to be sure the gray works. Not sure if I will continue with the cork.

Those guys look great so far! I should probably get some Aggressors for my own Dark Angels army.

I like the Aggressors. The bases, too. Gives a nice urban feel.

ZergSmasher- Thanks man, they are my first ever Primaris anything. They do come out pretty sharp.

youwashock- Thank you sir. Urban feel? Hmmm, a thought is brewing.........

So, more refinement on the Greenwing portion. I dry brushed the models with a couple highlights then went back with Caliban Green on the larger armor areas. So it almost, almost, looks like the extreme highlighting which vexes me so. To add more color, I pan to put ammo pouches and grenades on these guys. Alos will keep them consistent with Primaris, who I think have those items sculpted on. Only one pic.......

OK, having trouble with the pic. Sorry, Ill try to get it fixed.

Paradigm, good to hear from you sir. You know, I think you may have commented on my first Dark Angels blog a while back. But let’s not discuss that thread. The army ended poorly.

So speaking of poor, got the first combat squad done. Pics aren’t the best but you get the idea. I like the gray base but I think it may be too dark. Gonna experiment with a lighter base.

Those guys look pretty good, I think. Not too dark for the Dark Angels!

Thanks Zerg!

So I decided to add the pouches and such. Just to see how it looks. And got the bases refined. So some better pics.

Very nice! Those bases compliment the armour tones very nicely.
