Hope you all had a good Sanguinala! I managed to find some time to finish a couple of Razorbacks – and a few other things are not far off too...

Absolutely beautiful work. I really like the color gradation on the guns, they're just a little subtle and really well executed.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Perfect.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Greetings LutherMax, the Razorbacks are fantastic!

I always enjoy seeing Space Marine Vehicles painted in pairs or trios.

Did You paint the Raptors Razorbacks for Your own personal collection?

Looking forward to seeing more of Your Raptors Chapter paint work.

They are indeed. Super cool but super pricey!

Thanks darkstar! They are for my own collection, yes. The Raptors are my second army after Blood Angels. You can see the other units I’ve painted here: https://www.themightybrush.com/category/raptors/

And more pairs (and even triplets) of vehicles are coming soon!

These where really good. They do not have the usual 'colour fields' that airgun models usually have.

Those OSL headlights are some of the best I've seen. Most attempts look pretty ho-hum, but those are awesome. Kudos on the great work overall.

Look really great.

One criticism is with the headlights glow - you skipped light on the away face, which is spot on, but then you began it again immediately at the bottom of the edge. In reality that edge would block light and create a small dark area.

As far as the overall model goes, though, if that's the worst criticism you receive you're definitely doing something right

I actually dusted off this old account just to chime in...
Lovely work as ever, Luther! Your style, and technique, have improved well over what I thought was awesome in the first place! I need to pick your brain sometime and get tips on the blueing on the barrels, and how you're doing the headlamp osl..

By the way, I used to formerly be known as Orkgasm in another place..

Orky! Well met indeed! It was a shame when that other place got sucked into the Warp... do you frequent any of the Facebook 40k groups at all, or are you all about Warmachine these days?

For the heat staining on the gun barrels I followed this excellent tutorial on From the Warp: http://fromthewarp.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/how-to-paint-heat-stained-gun-barrels.html

I started off with quite a bright silver (Vallejo Model Air Aluminium), then the colour washes, then Nuln Oil and finally a drybrush with Gunmetal.

For the OSL I mask the areas I don't want hit by the light, then spray Vallejo Game Color Ink (to create a semi-transparent dark blue area), then Light Sea Blue closer to the source, then white on the source itself and immediate surrounding area.

Thanks PossumCraft! You are quite right about the shadow... The funny thing is I have some Tamiya tape that is exatly the height of that little vertical area, which is what I use to mask it off. What I should really do is overlap it slightly on to the sloping face. I will do that next time – thanks for pointing it out!

So I'm not a big fan of airbrushing (particularly when used for OSL), because oftentimes I find people overdo it on their minis.

With these, sir, that is not the case. Outstanding work.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

This I think about alot myself, there are just too many poorly executed OSL spots with airbrushes.

Being a fresh airbrusher myself, I try hard to avoid this very thing.

Having that amazing hammer too easily makes you see nails everywhere.
