Just generally curious for good stories (books or short stories) Black Library has that focuses on loyalist World Eaters during the Horus Heresy. As I recall, we get just a small bit where we see some loyal World Eaters interacting with Saul Tarvitz in Galaxy in Flames (I believe) but it is very brief. We also get a few pages of seeing Kharn before the heresy and he seems very level-headed. Outside of that there is not much I can think of involving loyal World Eaters. It seems there are quite a few memorable characters from the Death Guard, Emperor's Children and Sons of Horus that remained loyal and fought against the traitors, but I dont think there's much for the World Eaters.

For what it is worth, the horus heresy book Betrayal features a lot of Kharn, post heresy, but still struggling with the madness claiming Angron and his future roll as his equerry. I just want to see more representation of World Eaters with some thought other than just bloodshed and I wanted some background as I am working on a heresy era, loyalist World Eaters from the Betrayal at Calth box, Thanks.

The best story involving loyalist World Eaters is the one where they were all rounded up on Istvaan III and systematically hunted by Angron.

Yeah, when I said "Betrayal" I meant Betrayer, my bad. But yeah it's an amazing book, really great portrayal of Argel Tal and Kharn a short while into the HH.

I might just have the check the BL website but sometimes their short stories are hit or miss.

There are a few insights in later Forge World HH books (there is even loyalist WE commanding Xana Incursion) but generally, WE had less loyalists than others thanks to lobotomy and Angron killing everyone who dared to disagree with him...

sadly yes, he did clean house pretty effectively.

The loyalists engaged the world eaters landing lead by the primarch and some 50,000 of his marines.

not many lived, the remainder, lost in the battle for the city when traitors took it.

Sword of Truth, the Garro story features Macer Varren quite heavily, who is a loyal WE captain.

The Fabius Bile novels feature a major secondary character called Arrian Zorzi who is a World Eaters Apothecary.

He saw the writing on the wall a long time ago as the WE Legion's descent into madness would no longer have need of Apothecaries so he joined Bile's Consortium; but not without force as his former squadmate's skulls are now worn around his neck as a trophy. They talk to him.

Not books but the HH red books have great info on the bad ass loyalist of Istvaan and Endyn Harr who is a loyalist Warhound and agent of the emperor.
