I'm working on a a female Slaanesh Daemon prince conversion at the moment. Now, because GW doesn't have very many mid-sized female models (and I want to stay within the GW range) I'm concerned she might end up being a touch too small. I'm working on it currently, and I've done quite a few modification to extend her limbs and expand her silhouette as much as possible, but she is still a fair bit less bulky than a typical Daemon prince. I'm using bitz from Celestine and co. Greyfax, Daemonettes, and the witches from the throne of blood, along with wings from the scourge kit to give some frame of reference as to the size she will be. However, my question is this:

How small is too small for a Daemon Prince?

My rationale as of right now is that she wasn't a space marine when she ascended, and therefore her original "base" size was quite a bit smaller. Her height is looking to be that of a primaris marine, though here base will put her a bit higher up than that.

Well the smallest DP i can think of is belakor

and he is pretty small for a DP. kinda about the size of the new nurgle terminator guys iirc

but you should check with your group if its ok or not.

and if all else fails bring a cardboard cut out of a normal sized DP to check LOS.

also IIRC
everqueen is a pretty substantial model.

if i had to do a fem prince i would start with her.

Oh, I have other plans for Alarielle!

Oh yeah, forgot about Belakor. She is about his size, though with less muscle (but more limbs!). Think she should be fine.

Should be fine.

just get her on a bigger base, maybe on a tall rock or something.

since the daemon princes come on 60s.

Yeah. She was barely on that base as is. My plan is to use the staircase and cauldron from the blood throne to create a well of souls kind of base, with her standing over it.

Looks like an awesome conversion man, id love one done as nicely as that. Yeah just check height and I'm sure it will be a yes for most players. Rule of cool usually trumps all others but id definitely say keep her on a 60.

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.

Cauldron is mostly done. Actually had to tone it down because the throne was more of a focal point than the prince herself. Also put her on an 80mm for now, as I'm actually out of spare 60mm.

ID say make her pop out of the soul pool to focus her in the center.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

As far as fluff goes, the smallest Daemon prince I can think of was DOOMRIDER! Who was the same size as a Space Marine, so thematically a small Daemon prince is fine.

That is an awesome conversion! Can you explain how you made her? I know you go over the bits but I'm curious how much of each. I don't want to copy it exactly but get an idea of what I could do... I don't have much experience converting.

I am looking at making a Slaanesh army as well and looking at possible daemon prince conversions.

Looks great, especially with the scenic base; it really gives the impression of something otherworldly about her.

Here is a pic i found of Doomrider:

Sure! Some of it was just simple kitbashing and head transfers. Other parts were more detailed conversion work. Cutting bits where they aren't meant to be cut, shaping pieces so they'll fit, etc.

The throne is easy, just the throne of blood kit glued together, nothing special there.

From the bottom up:

-Boots were cut from the legs of Greyfax just above the knees and shaved down so they will fit on the torso.

-The torso is one of the attendants from the throne of blood. Just the one I think looked the best. Cut her legs off in roughly the same place the boots should fit on. Had to shave off the tabard a little bit to make it so the cuff at the top of the right boot would fit on there correctly.

-Her right (human) arm is the arm that fits onto that torso. Cut the hand off to replace with a claw I made from Greyfax's left gauntlet, cut the fingers off and shaved it down so it could be either hand. Cut the claws off of Cawl's hand and stuck them on to the gauntlet to make the malefic talons then just stuck it onto the right arm. Right shoulder pad is the left shoulder pad from Greyfax kit.

-The right slaanesh claw had to be shaved and shaped at the shoulder joint to fit under the arm, but other than that is just the claw from either the seeker or chariot kit. Can't recall.

-Left (human) arm (and really left shoulder and left part of her torso) was a bit more work. It is the left side of the medusa from the throne of blood kit. And it does not by any means fit naturally onto this torso. Had to shave both bits down so that they'd fit naturally. Take it very slow because you can always cut more off, but adding on is a pain.

- The left slaanesh claw is just stuck right under the other arm. There is space enough so that no extra cutting need be done.

-Small detail, but the right shoulder pad is connected to the left breast plate with a bit of chain from the scourge kit.

-Head from the seeker kit. Not much modding done there, but there is some extra hair added from the throne of blood kit that needs to be shaved down a bit in order to fit.

-Wings are from the scourge kit. Pretty simple. Had to cut them down a bit at the joints to get them at the angle I wanted them at, but otherwise just stuck on there.

- She actually has a tail, as well, which you can't really see, but it is made of the agonizer from the scourge kit.

-Spirits and cauldron stuff are all from the spirithost kit. Swirling ghost around throne is a huge pain and I don't recommend doing it. I took it off because it detracted from the prince herself.

I think that covers everything. Overall I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.
