So I've got what I think is a pretty solid, fun list but i'm struggling to fill the last 65pts and would really appreciate appropriate, viable, loosely Tempestus Scion themed suggestions.

Tempestor Prime,
-Command Rod, Chainsword, Laurels of Command

Primaris Psyker
-Barrier, Maelstrom

10 man Tempestus Scion Squad
-4 plasma guns, plasma pistol and chainsword

10 man Tempestus Scion Squad
-4 plasma guns, plasma pistol and chainsword

10 man Tempestus Scion Squad
-4 hot shot volley guns, bolt pistol and chainsword

Taurox Prime
-Battle Cannon, 2 autocannons

3 man Bullgryn squad
-Power Mauls, Slab Shields

Valkyrie
-Multilaser, 2 Heavy Bolters, 2 Rocket Pods

Plasma Scions and Prime deepstrike with all the orders, Psyker and Bullgryn jump out of the Valkyrie in charge range. Taurox and volley gun squad cover back field support and take objectives.

Now 65pts is too much to not use so what can i do with it please?!!!

What you could do is make the scions into 5 man squads and then have a couple of all plasma Militarum Tempestus command squads. By replacing the three ten man squads with these, i think it will take you up to 1999 points:

5 man Tempestus squad
- 2 hot shot volley guns, chainsword, plasma pistol

2 x 5 man Tempestus squad
- 2 plasma guns, chainsword, plasma pistol

3 x 4 man Tempestus command squad
4 x plasma guns

That will give you 3 plasma pistols, two hot shot volley guns and 16 plasma guns compared to the original 2 plasma pistols, four hot shot volley guns and 8 plasma guns

Good suggestions but unfortunately you can only have one command squad per officer and I only have one officer

Food for thought: My understanding is that you will use your tempestor prime to give the order Take aim on your 2 plasma squads.

Consider this option: replace the plasma guns with hot shot volley guns and use the Elimination protocol sanctionned tempestus order. Against tanks it will give you 66% more firepower than a dedicated lascanon team while still being utterly destructive against infantry. Elimination protocol sanctioned is the most underdog element of the Astra Militarum Codex. It is freaking good, it turns your antipersonnel unit into an anti-tank unit. Their volume of fire compensate for the limited damage. When used in correspondence with the grenadier stratagem and scion’s krak grenades, it is crazy.

I would run that Valkyrie as a Vendetta. I've tried all scions lists and I found that their lack of long range anti tank kills them. You can't count on deep striking close enough to kill with just special weapons. The Taurox prime helps that a little, but having only one long range threat on the table will get it blown up pretty quick. A vendetta is like 225ish points or so for 6 lascannons.

Ill second splitting the squads into smaller 5 man units. Valkyries are kinda terrible, the points would be better spent on more scion squads. Maybe a second Tempestor Prime.

Opposed to using standard guard detachment? The rest of Astra Militarum has a lot to offer. I’ve had better luck using Scions to alpha strike, in conjunction woth some standard IG on the side. Heavy weapons teams are super good. Lots of useful tanks. If deploying a huge amount of your list from reserve, you can benefit a lot from cheap artillary that can cram behind whatever LOS blocking terrain you have available. Mortars are cheap. Manticores kill things. Basic infantry squads are actually hilariously good, considering they cost so little. So many options in the codex, is all I’m saying I guess. I don’t run guard flyers this edition. Can get a cadian detachment with 9 lascanons (3x teams of 3) and a company commander for under 300 points.
