So, for my Corsair-ified Dark Eldar, I am intending to convert a bunch of the Sylvaneth models to serve as my beasts (Kurnoth Hunters as Clawed Fiends, Spite Revenants as Khymerae, and Dryads as Razorwing Flocks). The idea is that some weirdness happened to the world spirit of the Maiden World Lethidia, while it was under the watch of Urien Rakarth, causing bits of it to fragment off and possess trees, shrubs, and whatever manner of flora, resulting in the converted models.

Since this is in early planning stage, I am still working on figuring out all of the conversions I want to do to make this all work.

The one I have the most solid idea on is the Dryads. They might not seem like a good replacement for a Razorwing flock, but I want to draw on some other ideas - namely Dryads being surrounded by angry swarms of bugs and bees a la Skyrim or some other video games. My best thought for how to represent that on the model was to use the Flitterfuries bits out of a Drycha Hamadreth box or something similar.

Since the Flitterfuries bits seem to be rather difficult to get a hold of, does anyone know of some other small, flying insect miniatures that are similar?

Also, what do you think the extent of the conversions to the Kurnoth Hunters and Spite Revenants and Dryads would need to be for them to be proper "conversions" instead of "proxies" or "counts as"? I am considering using wraith bits and maybe some bits off the pain engines or wracks. Any other ideas?

I think swarms of flies are hard to pull off in a model. Maybe try to use a method for representing smoke but slightly different colour?
