I've never done a blog before, kinda wanted to try, so....yeah I've assembled a 3000ish point 40K Ork army with tons of conversions and insanity and this is where I'll post the progress, as I take the army to completion.

The concept of this army is a pseudo-Speed Freak Ork army that is obsessed over chrome. So while dirty is the 'default' look of Orks, this army while still having it's wear and tear, and is going to feature shiny silver in abundance. As well as each Ork having at least one 'chrome' tooth.

So, starting off like I do all my armies my HQs:

Warboss Khrome Dome /w bike, attack kitty (squig), and power klaw:

Parts are primarily alot sprue, a NASCAR kit, a Neferata cat, a dollar store chainsaw toy for the comically oversized weapon, a 3rd party head gifted to me, A cheap AoBR Warboss, Deffkopta, Tau, and other random things. Making a bike 'scale' to a Warboss made the bike stupendously big, so I had to improvise a base for it, so rules wise people know where the 'actual' base is for the model, otherwise I may of said feth it and put it on a big oval base. As far as the cat goes, I just imagine an 'attack kitty' as the warboss's favorite pet being to hilarious to pass up. That and a Space Marine having an angry house cat flung at his face.

Big Mek in mega armor, KFF, Mega blasta, and power klaw:

This one started life as a Stormfiend I was going to turn into a daemon prince...then changed my mind...then a helbrute...then I changed my mind...then a spawn...you get the idea. But after building the biker warboss, I figured if I did game with that model, people might get butt hurt so it'd be prudent to have a 'back-up' warboss in mega armor, so I started cutting, modeling, adding bitz and random toy parts (this time off of some Zeon mobile suit), and the more I crafted on him the more he became what I envisioned a Big Mek in mega armor would look like. The jewel of this is I can still use him as a warboss, but if taken together he's a big mek, riding in a battlewagon with a bunch of tankbustas.

Parts here are a head from Maxmini, a stormfiend, a 'junk kilt' made out of tank parts and belt slings off burnas, and a skaven flag. Punisher gatling gun, dreadnought parts, random ork parts, aforementioned mobile suit for a power plant, and the rest of the deffkopta I cut up for the warboss's ride. Also added a tow hook, because I thought with the power of the suit, he'd be a mule sometimes pulling stuff outta da muck to fix.

Now...on to painting!

Yes, all the chrome will belong to the Orks!

Yeah I do have a random assortment of bitz and what I can't find in bitz I raid the dollar stores and goodwill for 'donor' parts.

Nice conversions. Love the orks just for that reason. You can take almost anything and if done right you get some awesome like the two you did. Great job.

Update time: Flat colors on the Warboss are done. Had to break the bike apart though to reach areas with the paint brush as like always I simply overdesigned the dang thing. I also decided to beef up the handle bars by filling the ends of some bendy straws with green stuff and that works a lot better. Ink and highlight next, then we patch the bad boy up and he'll be ready to rock and roll.

Also need to decide on what color to paint the attack squig/kitty. Leaning towards black with red WAAAGH Paint.

The ccw whether it’s a power klaw or a choppa of some sort is outstanding. The size is over the top fantastic.

I plan on using it as a klaw, ,and yeah I know it's over the top, but it's Orky ingenuity, of course it's going to be over the top.

I love these conversions, they're absolutely amazing

IMHO both the biker and footslogging boss need an appropriate base though. The footslogging one could be ok on a 50mm, even better on a 60mm. I converted 5 stormfiends into dark eldar talos and the 60mm round base is perfect for them.

The biker boss need a huge base like logan grimnar's one. But the solution with two biker bases is ugly to watch, it would be better without any base at all.

If I had the bigger bases I might, IIRC the footslogging boss is on the same size base Ghaz is. But as far as the warbiker boss I was afraid if I put him on a bigger base, (I was thinking of the one sized for flyers) Then people would cry foul and 'modeling for advantage'
